Passing the crack (Bleach style) Toushirou/Rangiku

One of the great things about Bleach is it has so many characters who are well-designed, cool adult figures. This is great when it comes to fandom because it gives me the option of writing/drawing characters who aren't teenagers. (something that is all too rare in anime/manga).

Unfortunately, this doesn't apply here. Then again, I'd like to know how age works in Soul Society. The characters grow up...but do they grow up and stop aging? Do they grow up and age really slowly? Was this ever explained and I missed it? Many of the captains are probably over a hundred years, and the only one who looks it is Yamamoto.

Hitsugaya Toushirou/Matsumoto Rangiku
Kubo Tite certainly likes his funny captain pairs (Shunsui & Nanao, Soi Fong & Ohmaeda Marechiyo, Kenpachi & Yachiru). Many think Matsumoto/Hitsugaya is crazy because of the perceived age difference. I think they have a lot going for them... They already know each other well and care for each other a great deal. More importantly, the humor!

Lately, I've been doing more preliminary sketching. I'll have a vague pose in mind, and I'll sketch something really rough to see what to change. Hopefully this leads to a more final version.

"Why couldn't they assign me a normal vice captain?"
"A normal-breasted vice captain, captain?"
"Ye...what?"
