[Question] On ConxYuu

Mar 07, 2008 15:08

Hey, guys! I am puzzled by recent events in the anime [the R series] where so much YuurixWolfram is seen on the ovas... and I mean all the ovas.......

So what gives? Has ConxYuu lost all love in the anime? I wonder if this also applies in the novels...

Tell me what you think.

Sucks dont it..? though im glad that they made Wolfram and Yuuri more equal together as uke and seme rather than Wolfram mostly uke like in the series.

that's true, especially the third ova, even thought Yuuri saw the future he does want to avoid, in which he said that Wolfram does really like him.

I think...it's much more complicated then having more fangirls or the anime just being more "inclined" towards one direction. I just wish I understood more about how business worked in the anime industry. The OVA's are purely for fulfilling fan service (and introducing Sara to the anime) which is why a lot of it comes off as chaotic (not in a good way). Why is there practically no Conrad or ConYuu? *shrug* If I knew what marketing scheme they were up to I could tell you. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if they exploited fans by including a ConYuu bonus cd when they sell the OVAs as a box set. From what I've heard, Japanese Conrad and ConYuu fans are big spenders.

BTW, the official KKM anime site got updated:

http://www3.nhk.or.jp/anime/mao/

I think a few of the character pics are rather hideous.

To be honest, I think it's because of the whole, of Yuri's accidental proposal. There were hints of Conyuu in the anime, and early in KKM, the relationship between Conrad and Yuri were more suggested then Wolfram. However, during 2nd season, Yuri's pairing leaned more towards Wolfram. I think the anime is trying to aim for both, but they leaned more towards Wolfram later on so they can have Conrad as the big brother instead. Perhaps they decided on this because Yuuram is more popular(Which is odd since I heard that Conyuu was liked more in Japan, but I see more Yuuram stuff then Conyuu), or perhaps they did it because they wanted more entertainment, so they made Wolfram bully Yuri more, but show that he's doing this only because he loves Yuri >_>;;; I dunno. I think any moments with Conrad and Yuri will be brotherly only, just to not offend either fans.

I think we're forgetting that KKM is a kids anime. This could just be a rumour, but in the 2nd Season the anime almost got canceled because the BL was coming on too strong. Ever wondered why there was a sudden drop in ConYuu moments and Conrad showed up less? If ConYuu wasn't very popular in Japan why are those who are fans of the pairing marketed to the most? Wouldn't it make more sense that the creators would get more money out of Yuuram fans?
