About three weeks ago, we went to Gerard's house. There was a tailor getting our measurements because... well, we were the entourage for his wedding. So I thought of talking about him.

Seeing him again gave me some... memories and emotions. The last times that I saw him were the week before when the High Council watched Deadpool (and I do not remember the last time I watched a movie, cinema or otherwise,) and when we had dinner during his birthday sometime after the pandemic. I guess it's because I have not seen or have been talking to him for the longest time.

Over the past years, the High Council has spent a good time going overnight in Gerard's house, either playing video games or watching Anime. Surprisingly I have a vivid memory of me watching what I think are the first two episodes of Kyoukai no Kanata. I think that memory was vivid because I remember thinking that the main character there was really cute. Or maybe the animation of Kyoto Animation really is just that good. I didn't explore that after maybe a decade because I wasn't incredibly that much into Anime before, compared to how I am now. Anyway.

When we were going to head our own ways in those last three times we hung out together, he seemed to have expressed wanting to hang out longer, which was... kind of sweet in his own way. When we were headed out after watching Deadpool, he was moderately annoyed that Mike called the group for a coffee hang-out right as people were already on their vehicles and headed for home and Gerard, specifically, was headed out to pick up his fiancee from work.

During that last meet-up in his house, we noticed his very old all-in-one PC was stowed out in the open in a table in their garage. I got a little screwdriver, and we started to unceremoniously and nonchalantly opened up his PC. I thought it was silly for use to just open up his computer like that. They did hand out the hard drive to Gerard, so maybe he did actually ask us to open up his computer.

Prior to his current fiancee, all of his romantic pursuits have failed. One of the things he shared was that during one of his pursuits, he has started to develop some kind of "radar" for rejection. He explains that has been rejected so many times that he knows in advance as to when it is coming. Well, this radar is now obsolete thanks to his recent success. Not only did he finally enter a relationship, he is now engaged. The fiancee seems like a nice person, and I hope that he continues to be happy in their future.
