Get Out Alive

Oct 23, 2017 15:29

Captive to the sip, wine in both cruets.
Captain of a ship, no one to crew it.
Cashing my slip right when I accrue it.

Joan of no arc, strayed from the long course.
Alone in the dark shade of the pronged horns.
Bone thin in the park, paid for the wrong horse.

Lit, lonely, and poor.
Lord put me before
a fire exit door
hot on both sides.
Do I get out alive?
Do I want out alive?

Captive to the sins, bored, I outgrew them.
Captain of the ship, Lord, I ought to crew it.
Catch me. I've slipped before, I'm not new to it this time.
Do I want out alive?

Noah of an ark, stayed right for good measure.
Bones hid in the park, gravesites become leisure.
Shone into the dark, blade of light, I'm not sure of anything.
