"Dogs come when they're called; cats take a message and get back to you later." ~Mary Bly
I have added a new LJ friend today:

Caboodle Ranch is a 30 acre non-profit cat rescue society; founded by a single individual who cared enough to make a difference in the lives of some of my many brothers, sisters, and cousins who were not as lucky as me. Go take a look. It's a truly amazing story!
If you're feeling a need to give me a gift, please go here and donate to help Craig take care of them.
Please?

Now... back to my favorite subject... ME!
I am a "tuxedo cat" they tell me.
I was born in a patch of weeds in the middle of a place that
jubal51394 calls "Nowhere, Oklahoma". My mother, Maggie, abandoned me there and moved my brothers and sisters somewhere else.
Later that day my Mom was hit by a car and killed. Maggie left me behind because she thought there was something wrong with me. I have no idea what happened to my siblings but I doubt that they were as lucky as me.
I was less than a day old. My eyes were still closed and my umbilical cord was still attached. As soon as I was able to "think" I heard this awful noise. It was a great big, loud dog barking at me. I wasn't afraid. I didn't yet know what a dog was. What I did "know" was that it was alive and I needed something living to be with. So... I began to climb that hill towards that dog!
The dog belonged to
jubal51394. She came out and found me. She scrunched me up in her nice warm hand and took me inside her home.
Before I had time to complain much, she stuffed the rubber nipple of a doll's baby bottle into my mouth and out came nice warm, pleasant tasting stuff. It wasn't quite like my Momma's milk, but it was pleasant and it felt good to have my belly full again.
My staff includes two humans...
John, who lives with us, helped to raise me, and buys the cat food...
jubal51394, who likes to follow me around with her camera.
Now... I'm an old, lazy boy... the center of my universe... and my humans'.
The rest of my staff consists of four very large dogs... one of which is a Rottweiler. I consider Sophie my favorite cuddle. She's very warm, she smells yummy, and she takes very good care of me.
