Title: Temple run and I Love You's
Fandom: Primeval
Characters: Connor Temple/Abby Maitland
About/ AN:: Set S3, after the kiss but for some reason Connor's still living in the flat and Jack is missing. yup. IDK, maybe jack went out and connor came over and slept over? or its kinda AU.... lol I also know that there weren't touch screen 4G phones and Temple Run when S3 technically took place, but creative liscence, kay? :D
> Basically, Abby's new phone has a new game on it. One of the game's 'game over' type messages leads to something sh didn't expect. When games stop being games and start being real, your best friend is the one you love. Something like that. I thought it sounded pretty neat. Also excuse typos. keyboard is craptastic :p

Abby hummed along to the music playing on the radio, the headphones in her ears stopping the sound from filling the whole flat. She reclined on the sofa, thankful that for once Connor had remembered to clean up after himself and hadn't left the empty box of pizza, cans of beer, and the stack of video games all over the couch. She'd just gotten the new phone she now held loosely in her hands, and smiled as she slid her pointer finger across the touch screen to go to the next page.

She stopped, frowning for a moment before chuckling. Abby clicked on the game, snickering again at the title.

Temple Run.

Now, she was pretty sure that the phone hadn't come with the game already installed, which meant that when Connor had said he was setting it up for her, he'd coem across this game and decided to install it for her. She might as well check it out, especially with a name like that.

Ten minutes later and the little figure in the game - she pretended he was Connor, just because those creatures chasing after the figure looked a whole lot like Future Predators, and it made a lot of sense witth the name of the game and all - slid right off the edge when the phoen glitched. She cursed and then promptly stared at the screen, bursting into laughter.

Temple Slippery When Wet.

The game had a special message each time the character died.

As if to prove the point, Connor - who had been in the shower and had just now turned off the water, audibly slipped. A loud "ow!" reached her ears and she winced but couldn't stop laughing anyway.

Slippery indeed.

She couldn't help her mind from being a little dirty, even if she pretended frequently she didn't feel that way about her clumsy, adorkable, genius-but-he-can't-figure-out-normal-things flatmate.

She read the message from the game again before snickering once more. She got up and left the phoine on the couch, pulling the headphones out of her ears and laying them with the phone as she walked towards the shower door and knocked on it.

"You okay, Conn? Don't need me to come in and help you, do you?" She asked sweetly, a mischievous grin on her face. She heard him spluttering, and jumped back a tiny bit as the door opened a crack and his goldeny-chocolate-brown eyes peeked out at her owlishly.

"You played the game, didn't you?" He asked, trying ot sound stern about it, but not quite hiding the little grin. She nodded, watching him flush, then shake his head roughly and open the door. Steam rolled out, and (much to her dissapointment - no, she really didn't feel that way about him, honest!) he stepped out clad in only a towel, water dripping from his plastered- flat dark hair down his shoulders and chest. She smiled, flushing.

"Maybe it's not just the game, Conn." She said, blinking. She hadn't meant to say that!

He turned bright red, smiling a little smugly, and moved closer. He'd told her he loved her and then denied it, she'd kissed him and then said she didn't want things to be weird. Now it was his turn again.

Just like Temple Run, it was a game, or maybe it was more. Temple Run really wasn't just a game, in any case - Connor Temple ran from creatures all the time (sort of). So, why couldn't what they felt for each other be more than a game of two steps forwards and one step back?

He tilted his face down slightly, and she moved closer, tilting her's up. Two moves each, towards each other.

Their lips met, and soon it was Temple slippery when wet, come to life in an unexpected way.

With the added bonus of it being real, and the words "I love you." being spoken from both parties.
