I'd Just as Soon Kiss a Wookiee

“Vader!  Vader!  Vader!” squeaked the little Ewok as she ran and hid behind her Papa’s legs.  She peaked around him at the approaching form of James Lester and pointed whilst looking up at her Papa in his Han Solo costume, “Vader!” she reiterated with a squeak and a duck back behind his legs with a giggle.  The annual Halloween party at the ARC was in full swing and little Leia Temple was the life of the party.

Lester was not amused, at least, he tried not to be, though he had to fight to keep the smile off his face.  He was no Darth Vader, he was a much better bureaucrat than that dictator.

“I see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, eh, Drake?”

‘Drake’ was clearly having a hard time keeping his laughter in check.

“Chewie Wookiee,” the excited toddler squealed out next and made a beeline for Danny who looked nothing like a Wookiee.  He was dressed as Frankenstein’s Monster.  Leia jumped into his arms and he spun her around in good sport before coming to stand next to Drake and Lester.

“Seriously, mate?  How long did it take the two of you to teach her that?”

“Who?  Teach what?”  Eye Patch’s voice was an octave high as he tried to fight off the fit of giggles he could feel coming on.

“You really think I’d believe this adorable Ewok taught herself all this?”

“What an excellent question, Quinn,” Lester chimed in.

“Wookiee!” Leia said, patting Danny on the head.  Then she pointed back at Lester.  “Dark Vader!”

“Darth,” her Papa corrected out of the corner of his mouth.

“Darth!” she repeated.

“I knew it!  Seriously, how did you teach her that?” Danny asked.

“I’m going to get some punch, wouldn’t want to have to put someone away for child cruelty,” Lester mumbled as he walked off suppressing a huge grin that painted itself across his face the moment he turned away from the Ewok clad toddler.

“Flash cards,” Eye Patch replied nonchalantly.

“Where on Earth did you find such an authentic Ewok costume?”

“Are you kidding?  All the Ewok costumes that we searched for sucked.  We made this one.  Connor is quite domestic,” Eye Patch explained.

“Oh really?” Danny commented.

“Papa is Han Solo,” Leia said with pride.  “He’s the best but I can’t tell Daddy that.”

“I heard that,” said Connor as he strolled over to pluck his baby girl out of Danny’s arms and shower her with tickles.  His Luke Skywalker outfit hugged him perfectly.  “And I heard that bit about my domestic skills.  Who made your costume?  Huh baby girl?  Who made it?”

Leia giggled hysterically and squirmed, writhed and wriggled as her Daddy playfully tormented her.  “Papa!” she called.  “Papa found my fur and Daddy sewed my costume.  Mummy found the vest and Daddy made the hood,” Leia panted and giggled and hugged her Daddy close.  “Papa said he was the best but I’m not supposed to tell.”

“Traitor,” Eye Patch laughed as he took his daughter and cuddled her to him.

“Sorry, Papa, Daddy was tickling me,” Leia whispered to him.

“I’m certain he did and he’ll get his own tickle punishment later,” Connor replied to her confession.  Leia giggled and Danny almost spit out the mouthful of punch he’d just drank.

“What are you two up too?  I could hear her all the way across the room,” Abby inquired, a line of soldiers staring blankly after her.  One of them was actually drooling.  Abby didn’t notice but her husbands did and they beamed with pride.  Their Mama Cat, as Eye Patch sometimes referred to her, was clad in nothing but Princess Leia’s golden metal bikini, complete with the collar around her throat and a long chain trailing down her back and gracing the floor behind her.  She was every science geek’s wet dream, and then some.  She cuddled the furry toddler and handed her a fruit pastie.  “We’re going to go have some girl time to calm down a bit.  It’s almost time to go, and that means that it’s almost time for this one to be in b-e-d.”

“No bed!  I want candy!”

“Too smart for her own good isn’t she mummy,” Danny said with a wink.

“I’m sure you want candy, but you’re just going to have to make due with what you have.  You can have more tomorrow.”

The sight of an Ewok pouting was almost more than her dads could bear.  Even Danny wanted to run and get her candy.

“Please?” she asked pathetically.

“Nope.  Nice try with the puppy eyes though.  No doubt about who your daddies are.”  Abby kissed her cheek and headed off in the direction of what looked like Cleopatra and a femme fatale Gangster’s Moll.  Sarah and Jenny had gone all in with their costumes as much as Abby had hers.  Sarah even had a dusting of gold body paint and glitter, you could see her from any point in the room.  Jenny had a Tommy Gun in one hand and a long cigarette holder in the other, her flapper dress draped artfully across her frame with a wig completing the 1920’s look.

As Abby passed Becker in his long woolen trench coat and all black ensemble, she heard him redirecting his men away from ogling her.  It was completely comical to see Neo from the Matrix reading the riot act to an entire cadre of Mr. Smiths all with matching suits, ear pieces, and sunglasses and all looking very shamed.  Some of them had enough alcohol in them to not be able to completely control themselves and still watched her saunter through the party, chain clanking.

As soon as Abby reached the girls, they were joined by Jess, who was watching Becker wrangle his men and smirking. She had on an absolutely perfect Lucy of “I Love Lucy” costume, her red hair coifed into a 1940’s housewife hairdo.

Leia leaned out and reached for Jess. “Jess. Jess has candy.” And indeed she did. Jess was just about to polish off the last of her chocolate Crumble.

“Uh, no little miss. You know better than that,” corrected Abby.  “Here, have some juice instead.” Abby handed Leia a sippy cup full of apple juice. The little girl took a hold of it with both of her furry paws and started drinking and Abby set her on her feet in front of her. Abby glanced over at her husbands. They were both good naturedly laughing with Danny at Becker and all his Mr. Smiths.

“Are you sure she can’t have the rest of my Crumble. I don’t mind. Honestly. I really don’t need to finish it,” Jess said, pulling Abby from her reverie.

“What? Oh no. She doesn’t need it either. I don’t want her wound up on any more sugary sweets than she’s already had. She has plenty of candy. She can have more tomorrow, just not tonight,” Abby answered. She really was a good mum. Flexible when she needed to be, but firm as well. Abby ran a tight ship. She had to with the two men she was married to. Abby smiled fondly to herself and then looked down at her daughter. Where had she got too? “Leia? Leia? Where are you, sweetheart?”

Leia, who had been standing right in front of her mother a second ago, had vanished.

“Leia!”  Abby felt the panic begin to rise along with the timbre of her voice as she searched the crowd for her daughter.

Her husbands heard the fear in her voice and much of the conversation in the room quieted at the sound of Abby’s call.  Connor and Eye Patch immediately came over to Abby.

“Where is she?  Eye Patch asked.

“I don’t know, she was right here a moment ago,” Abby fretted.

“Where did you last see her?” Connor asked.

“Right here.  I mean… Right.  Here.”  Abby jabbed her finger at the spot right in front of her.

“Abby,” Becker said gently, suddenly appearing at her side.  “How long ago do you think that was?”

“Not one minute ago.”

“Well, she couldn’t have got far then,” came Lester’s calm and dry reply.  “Connor, Drake, this entire place is wired with cameras, is it not?  Why don’t you both go to the ADD and see what you can find.  Becker, get your men ready to search the building.  We have a little Ewok to go find.”

“Yes, sir,” all three men answered at the same time.

Abby began to sob.  Danny and put his arm around Abby and held her close while her husbands went to search the video feeds.

The Connors sat at the ADD both flipping as quickly as possible through the various camera feeds from all over the ARC.  Becker stood behind them waiting for directions on where to send his men.  The horde of Agent Smiths had started a systematic search of the ARC in anticipation of further orders.  Jess’ keen eyes searched the feed as well from over their shoulders.  At the worktables, just off to the left, Lester and Danny sat with Abby.  Someone had handed her a cup of tea and some tissues.  She wiped her eyes and stared at what she could see of the video screen.

“Anything yet?” she asked anxiously.

“Nope…” Connor said distractedly

“No!  Wait I think I might have something,” Eye Patch said.  He ran the feed he’d just been looking at back a few moments.  “There!” Both Connor and Eye Patch pointed to the same spot at the bottom left corner of the screen.  Sure enough they could just make out the head of what appeared to be a walking teddy bear.  She was too small in height for her to show up fully on that angle of the camera.

“Becker, tell your men to hurry and head for the menagerie.  Quickly please, she might know how to open the pens, she’s fast and she’s seen Abby open them a hundred times,” Connor ordered.  Becker immediately directed the search down to the menagerie.  Connor and Eye Patch worked their magic with their fingers flying across the keyboards.

“Stampy!” they both said at the same time with a shared glance at the other.  They were up from their seats and running for the mammoth pen with Abby right on their heals.

Leia loved Stampy.  The prehistoric elephant was her favorite creature to see at the ARC.  The mammoth would always sniff at the top of her head with its trunk making her giggle and squeal with delight.  Stampy was a total pushover and an old softy.  But it was still a mammoth and Leia was still just a tiny little thing who was too smart for her own good.

A small contingent of Becker’s soldiers beat them to the Menagerie, but they had all stopped short at the door of the mammoth pen.  The three parents feared the worst at the sight of the soldier’s apprehension.  Abby shoved her way passed all the Agent Smiths, determined to get to her daughter.  The Connors did the same following in their wife’s wake.  All three stopped at the door at the sight that met them.  Leia was sitting in the crook off the giant mammoths trunk holding on with one hand whilst sipping juice from her sippy cup barely held in the other hand.  Her head was tilted to the side and resting against the trunk as the mammoth gently swayed with her from side to side as if it was rocking her to sleep.  And asleep she almost was.

It was too cute and adorable for words.  All three of them felt their hearts melt and tears come into their eyes.  They rushed forward and dropped to their knees in front of her.  Stampy gently lowered her into her mother’s arms.

“Mummy, Stampy was swinging me.  Did you see?” Leia asked as she wrapped her furry little arms around her mum’s neck.  The Connors showered her with kisses and hugs.  “Daddy and Papa, did you see?  I was swinging.  Sippy cup is empty.  Can I have some more juice?”

“Yes, darling.  Mummy’ll get you some more juice.   Come on baby; let’s get you home.  I think Eva and Georgie will be missing you.”

“Mummy, can I sleep in my costume?  It’s warm.  I think Eva and Georgie would like it.”

“We’ll see baby.”

“Papa.”  Leia reached for Eye Patch with her little paws and he gathered her into his arms.  “I’m sleepy, Papa.”  Leia buried her cubby little cheeks in Eye Patch’s neck as he stood up with her, his damp cheek rubbing against the top of her fluffy costume.

Connor patted Stampy and thanked him for watching over their daughter.  “Can someone get this mammoth some apples,” he asked to the room at large.

“Mummy, can’t I have one more piece of candy?” Leia pleaded.

Abby leaned up and kisse the tip of her nose.  “No.  You can have some in the morning with breakfast though.”

“All right,” Leia conceded and laid her head on her Papa’s chest.  Eye Patch rubbed her back lightly.

The Temple family made their way back upstairs.  Leia insisted on hugging everyone goodnight before they left for the evening.  The little Ewok waddled from person to person, hugging and cuddling them.  Lester even gave her an Eskimo kiss, rubbing the tips of their noses together.  He then caught the rest of the Temple family smiling at him and cleared his throat before setting her down with a pat on her little Ewok head and sending her back to her parents.  They all knew he was as relieved as they were that nothing horrific had happened.

Connor gathered up his daughter and held her close as they made their way to the car park.  He placed her into her car seat and kissed her forehead before climbing in next to her in the back.  Abby drove home with the older Connor in the front passenger seat.

Leia was sound asleep by the time they reached their flat.  Connor unbuckled Leia from her car seat and gently carried her inside, Leia making only a few small snuffling noises against his neck as he walked.  Abby and his older self followed him into Leia’s room to help put her down.  It was an almost nightly ritual; they all came in to kiss her good night and wish her sweet dreams.

Connor placed her on her little bed and undid the furry headpiece of her costume.  She yawned and curled up on her side.  Georgia padded into the little room and sniffed at Leia to make sure all was normal with her, staying a few seconds longer as her Leia pup was covered in fur still.  Georgia then took up her customary spot as night watch dog at the end of Leia’s bed.

“Leave her in her costume.  She likes it and wanted to sleep in it,” Abby said quietly.

Connor nodded and leaned down to press his lips against her temple.  “Sweet dreams, baby girl.”

Abby was next and brushed her daughter’s hair back from her face.  “Sweet dreams, my love.  See you in the morning.”

Eye Patch was last; he rubbed her cheek before brushing his lips over her velvety soft skin.  “Good night, Kitten.  Sweet dreams.”  The three of them stood over her for a moment.  They all never got tired of watching her sleep, not since she was born.  They traded quiet kisses and then headed for bed.  Eye Patch stooped to scratch Eva’s ears before sending her off to her own bed for the night.

The three of them stripped off their costumes quickly and climbed into bed.

As Eye Patch dropped his head to the pillow he huffed out a breath.  “Damn, that kid is gonna be the death of me.”

Abby curled up next to him and rested her head on his chest.  Connor pressed up behind Abby and leaned over her to kiss Eye Patch soundly on his lips.  “You know you love every second of being a daddy,” Connor stated cheekily.

“Not when I’m about to have a bloody heart attack,” the older Connor retorted.

“She was adorable swinging on Stampy’s trunk though, wasn’t she?” Abby said.  Eye Patch’s chest rumbled with laughter under her.

“Yes, that was adorable once I got past the shock and terror that Stampy might live up to his name.”

“Yeah, I had that thought too.  But then she yawned and rubbed her furry little face against Stampy’s trunk.  Did you see those chubby little fingers of hers’ holding on to him.  It was so cute,” Connor gushed.

“God, I love that kid.  Along with you two, she’s the best damn thing that ever happened to me.  The only way any of this would be better would be is if there were two of her,” the older Connor commented.

“Maybe one day…” Abby mused.  “Until then, why don’t we shag each other like a pack of rampant Wookiees.”

“Lrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,” Eye Patch roared.

Connor took the much geekier option of impersonating Yoda.  He wrapped his arms around Eye Patch and said, “Yes.  Mmhmm.  Shag me you must.  Me up the arse you must take.”  He giggled then, unable to contain himself.  “Hard you must pound.”

Abby burst out laughing when Eye Patch responded with another Wookiee roar before flipping him to his back and pinning him to the bad.  He let out another growl of triumph and buried himself balls deep in Connor’s arse.

Connor had the presence of mind to keep up his Yoda impersonation.  “Ah!  Good that so feels.”

Abby giggled again as she stilled Eye Patch’s movement with a hand on his shoulder.  She straddled Connor in front of her older lover and then sank herself down on his prominent erection.

They moved as one, as they always did.  Maybe one day they would have another child, but for now, as it had been for the last several years, it was just the three of them, complete in each other and relishing every movement of the others bodies.  Leia slept on peacefully in her little Ewok costume; the thick door on her parents’ room shielded her from waking up and disturbing her parents’ nightly activities, Georgia sleeping lightly at the foot of her bed.

They took each other to lofty heights of pleasure over and over.  The three of them worked very hard to never take each other for granted and Leia was the centerpiece of their lives.  Thanks to her, everything felt complete.  Not that they didn’t have room for another little Ewok in their lives… someday… maybe.
