Only one more day...I kinda want to cry.

Today was fairly uneventful at work, given the lack of random dogs wandering in (we did have 3 jack russell terriers come in on Monday, though). Julie wasn't there. Vern wandered in rather too much for my tastes.

Get this: we had to make this phosphoric acid solution one day a few weeks ago. So we figured out how much of everything we needed, etc. Then Vern said he wanted us to wait 'til Julie was back to make it because he didn't want us working with strong chemicals by ourselves (this is when there are 3 of us in the lab). Today, Vern walks in. I'm all by myself (that phrase is important), getting some Kjeldal digests ready...and he asks me to make up some phosphoric acid solution. I rolled my eyes pretty hard.

I was pretty snarky to him today. I didn't mean to be, it just came out.

He was trying to tell me something (that he had already told me, probably) and I had just put in my CD of "The Planets"- the first one being Mars. Loud. So I turned it down. And he tells me all about how kids find him rude because he turns things down when he comes into a room to talk to people because otherwise he can't hear because he's deaf in one ear. I said "Oh, yeah, you told me that."

Evidently, he forgot what he was going to tell me originally, so he just kinda said "Yeah. So that's why."

I nodded. Smiled. Said "Mm-hmm. So. Do you need to tell me anything, or can I turn this back up?"

He kinda looked at me agape, snorted, snickered, and left. He was stunned, incidentally, that I was listening to "classical". In his words, "that's a far cry from Corb Lund".

ANYHOW.

Got home, had supper, was checking email.

Mum goes "Were you expecting Kevin?"
"...nooooooo...."
Kevin comes in.
"Wanna go for wings? Laura and Mike just called."
"Yeah, sure!"

So I went for wings with Kevin and Laura and Mike. Then Allison came on her way to NB and we checked out her new car. And Kevin's parents rolled in. And Kevin and I headed out and took a cruise through town. Then he dropped me off so he could go sleep, as he's working night shift at the mine.

So now, here I am. Last day of work tomorrow. I'm going to miss it a lot.
