One.. Three Dog Night?

One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes, it's the saddest experience you'll ever know
`Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest number, worse than two...

aww. Doesn't it just make you want to bawl?

In all honesty, I am a bit lonely. I have fun at work with Crystal and Niki and sometimes, even Brent...but then I get home and I'm lonesome for my friends. Oh well. One month down, two to go!

I'm beginning to realise that being single BEFORE having had someone and being single AFTER are two very different things. I never before understood the people who seemed to bounce from one partner to another, with only short breaks in between, but I'm starting to get it. Before, you're kinda lonely, you kinda wish that you could find someone who would like you for who you were, you think it would be nice to have someone to cuddle you and all that (especially when you're with coupled-up friends). After, you feel like, 'well, maybe that was my chance. I've felt validated.' You think it would be nice to have someone to cuddle, etc....but it's more of a craving, an actual desire, than some vague yearning. Seeing other couples brings up, for lack of a better word, bittersweet memories. The main problem is that the yearning now has direction, but the object is unattainable. The issue is, it's an object that WAS obtainable at one time, and you have to learn to cope with not having it. And train yourself out of wanting it at all.

At least that's how I've been feeling.

I'm all registered for my classes, although there's still a few I might change around. My schedule's pretty crappy. The courses I'm registered for right now:
Microbial Genetics
Nucleic Acids
Immunology
Virology
Human Nutrition
Spanish composition
Spanish translation
Sociology of Health and Illness
Issues in sociology and social anthropology: Agriculture and Biotechnology.

As far as academic interests go...that's pretty much me in a nutshell.
