Schrödinger's Cat
Schrödinger's cat tells us that a particle can be in two possible states till we check which one is the state. A cat in a box could be dead or alive, till we open the box to check which one is the state.
True, this theory was aimed to explain particle movement. I don't even remember which particles and all the physics involved, but with the example of the cat, the theorem also became popular in other environments. It is a catchy phrase after all.
Now, the phrase has a new meaning for me. Schrödinger's cat is quite similar to the two weeks wait. Another sentence that I didn't know was popular till recently. In these two weeks' wait, I live in two states. Should I drink or shouldn't I drink? Did I feel something or didn't I feel something? Is it all in my imagination or is it not?
The first time, I used the strategy of forgetting about it, and party as if it was the end of the world. Ok, I don't have such a crazy life, even though sometimes I would like to (so in my mind, when I tell stories, I do). Anyway, the first time, I chose to forget. And it didn't go exactly well, in more ways than one.
So now, I don't manage to apply the same technique. I can't forget. I live with Schrödinger's cat, and plan parties for after the two-week wait. In that case, I have a win-win situation, and always something to celebrate.
