Well, the writer's pretty much just regurgitating what I write, since he's not coming up with anything brilliant on his own. It's sort of a weird situation, but I'll keep sending stuff back until the writing gets to where I want it to be.

Oh man, that Tamron looks SO good. Does it attach to your Nikon ok? I read in a few places that the 18-70mm has a lot of distortion, but don't know how much or if it's a nitpicky pro photographers thing. Guess I'll just have to walk into a store and try them out for myself!

Eeeeexcellent! Thank you for the info. I'm thinking of only buying the body now and getting the 17-50mm. My current camera has this crazy paparazzi zoom that really isn't all that useful.

Yeah I think it's vignetting... I like it too ;P

What are you going to do with your old one?? Maybe I'll buy it off you? I'm always waffling on whether to invest in a completely new one or not. It'd be nice to have the D80, though...... Are things cheaper around Black Friday?

Mmmm macros.

I've been snooping around Van's craigslist too - lots of places are selling them new for not much more than a used (like $50 difference). The US still has them for much cheaper, though.

I think I'll hold off until I know where I'm staying in the US, though - probably have to drop a buttload on temporary furniture. Sigh... I should sell my old camera! Where do you find out how many clicks these things have?

They've got a relocation package for me! I just don't know what it is or where yet. My relatives lived too far away - I want to live close enough so that I can just bike there. Winter in LA should be more bearable!

That is VERY far. @_O Maybe DW thought they were going to be driving.

Yes! From what I've seen the apartments are pretty huge around there. And we can go to Disneyland =3
