Pop Up Market Shibuya 2014

Yesterday I went to a bazaar event called Pop Up Market Shibuya at KunCi (Kuningan City) mall with my lovely sister Karolina (twitter/instagram: @arolarol). She got a special invitation / VIP pass from both the organizer and Puyo Desserts. The event is hosted by Prasetiya Mulya Business School. For those of you who are not shopaholics, particulary online shopaholics, or not an instagram freak, you are probably not quite familiar with such event. To put it simply, it is a bazaar which housed a number of online shops. The shops, which mainly operating online only, get a chance to do "open house" in this event, selling stuffs directly to the customers. If you are still not a believer of online shopping, attending this event might give you some insight of local brands / online shops in Indonesia, because you can see, look, feel, touch the real stuffs before buying it. The participants are mostly online shops which already has good reputation in the online world (mainly instagram).

The participating tenants / shops mainly consist of fashion and F&B (food and beverage). You might be quite surprised how ubiquitous fashion is in online shop department. The fashion stuffs are mostly RTW (ready-to-wear) clothing and shoes (which seem to be specially designed and handmade by the online shops, not the kind of shops which only imported stuffs from China or Bangkok). The F&B stuffs are desserts, like cupcake, jam, pudding, and ice cream. I guess big meal is not really preferred here.

Because of the small space and layout, the place seem to be very entirely packed, especially in the F&B floor. I presume there must be quite a lot of fashion bloggers attending this event, indicated by how trendy the girls are. Well I guess even the regular attendees are doing much effort in preparing their looks, like wearing nice dress and nice makeup. Honestly I feel so underrated compared to those girls - I only wear a nice pair of jeans and Nike shoes without any effort to look any better. Even my sister wear skirt and light makeup; I was totally amused back at home, and now I regret looking so shabby.

My sister bought a black tiger print jacket from quenellebelle shop. Next, two jars of Kaya Jam. Next, one cup of Spiky Smooth ice cream. The final blow, 12 cups of Puyo Desserts puddings. Personally I am not really tempted to buy any stuff in Pop Up Market other than desserts, my mind is still wandering somewhere else.

If you are interested, you still can attend the event tomorrow. ;)

Check out their official website for more info, such as list of tenants:

Celebrity Garage Sale

After stepping out from Pop Up Market, my sister browsed her instagram and reminded me of Celebrity Garage Sale event. We headed to GF (Ground Floor) without much anticipation (more spending alert!!). The bazaar is located in a big hall. There are various fashionable stuffs, mostly dress and shoes. I quickly headed to the shoes. They are just laid on the floor, each pair of shoes are placed over their own box. I saw some pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes, they were all sold at Rp 3 million. OK, I totally passed on them although they look so beautiful with their signature red soles. I saw a pair of white Jeffrey Campbell studded shoes which has "Lady Gaga heels". I tried it, looked beautiful but eventually the studs are pretty sharp; they kinda hurt when I tried to put on and put off the shoes. The price tag is Rp 900.000. Expensive, but still in good condition, plus the box is available. Then, I walked to the other side, and then I saw a ghost...

Jeffrey Campbell Lita Boots in Wood Print

Is that what I thought it is? YES. IT IS. When I saw it, I didn't shout or gasped, I just took the shoes and examined the sole and inner part. I was checking to make sure this is the real deal, because I saw there are some fake/replica shoes also. The shoes looked huge in real life, and I am pretty surprised. I quickly ran to my sister and told her to try the shoes on, because it looked big (the size is 8M, which means 39). She agreed and she tried them on. She said they are comfortable and lightweight even though they look big and heavy. I told her to examine the shoes again, I was still not sure if it is real because the inner part of the sole is covered with black lining. I thought they were fakes, but my sister found out that the lining was actually additional pads that were added by the original owner, probably because it was too big. I saw the inner label and found the signature "Jeffrey Campbell" label, and I am relieved. Unfortunately, these shoes came without the box, and this is also why I did double check to make sure it is authentic.

Without much thought, I asked my sister if I paid for this, would you wear it frequently? She said OK, just think of it as a birthday present. Alright then so I told the salesperson to pack them up and I quickly headed to the cashier.

The shoes cost me around Rp 700.000, but believe me, it was THE BEST BUY OF THE MONTH, I am telling you. It is killer. It's like, the holy grail shoes for girls. Honestly I've been wishing to buy these shoes since I first saw them, but looking at the price tag if you buy the new one, they could cost you around 1.5 - 2 million, not including the shipping fee, it's totally out of the question because I could not afford it. Jeffrey Campbell shoes, especially this legendary Lita Boots, are not sold exclusively in Indonesia. They are really hard to be found, although there are some people who sold them as pre-order or secondhand. Still, they are overpriced sometimes.

THE CLASSIC
Like a time honored tradition JC Lita has been gracing the closets of serious style mavens for over 3 years now and it's pretty much still the best thing that ever happened in shoe form. You call yourself a shoe lover? Not until you've got at least one pair of these babies in your armoir.

Women's shoe. Imported.

I agree. Totally. I mean, who's not? *wink*

My sister wore the boots straight after I paid for them. They are quite heavy and bulky and we have enough hand-carry, so she decided to ditch her sneakers and wear the boots instead. When I looked at her wearing them, I felt so satisfied and totally content. They looked so good on her. As much as I love these boots, I realize they are not a match for me. They look so big and chunky, I'll be "drowned" if I wear them. Well, if I'm confident enough, maybe I'll wear them sometime.

Next up, my own shoes.

Aldo Hazinski Shoes / Wedges
I bought these shoes initially because:
1) I want a nice pair of Aldo shoes. I really do. I have owned Steve Madden, and now I want Aldo.
2) They are on sale. Up to 70%. Totally.
3) The salesperson was very nice. He was totally helpful and always smiling.

End notes
I rarely went to KunCi (Kuningan City). I think this is my second visit. It is practically a new mall, although the building itself was already present for years. The mall itself has a suitable size, not too big, connected with office building AXA tower. It is still kinda deserted - so the atmosphere is peaceful and calm. Great for relaxing and drinking coffee. I also like the interior, it's neat and well-arranged. There are still not so many stores and restaurants inside; in fact, the only floor that has complete stores (if I'm not mistaken) are only GF and UG. There are some of my favorite high-street fashion stores, namely Suite Blanco, Stradivarius, Pull & Bear, Mango, Steve Madden, Aldo, etc. (would be perfect if there is Bershka). Honestly yesterday before we enter Pop Up Market, we were going crazy visiting Aldo and Suite Blanco. I like the Suite Blanco store here is wider compared to SenCi (Senayan City), plus all the stuffs are discounted... You know I had a feeling I am gonna spend a lot when I arrive there, and I am so glad I have received my salary, or else I'll be dead bankrupt.
A friendly tip: NEVER, EVER, go to KunCi or any mall in this territory on Friday noon/evening if not totally necessary. Traffic jam is like hell, you'll be freezed in the car. We spent about two hours just to get here from East Jakarta.

Unlike me, my sister is very photogenic, so I am gonna put up some OOTD photos of her:

Now... Image spam!! Can't get enough of JC Lita Boots :D
