(no subject)
A Jehovah's witness just came to my door. She told me about a like... God day or something and I told her I'm an atheist. She said, "Oh... well have a nice day" and walked away.
I thought this was funny. Chris asked me what happened and I told him. He asked why I had said that and I shrugged. He said, "Well I hate Jews." Now, I know he doesn't really feel that way and only said it to make a point, but I really didn't get his point. This woman was trying to offer me information on a religion I know I won't like because I don't believe in God. I was saving her time and effort on trying to persuade me to join her religion by telling her such up front. I wasn't trying to insult her or offend her or anything like that; I was just letting her know that I'm an atheist and therefore am less inclined to want to become a Jehovah's Witness. I think it would've been a lot more rude of me to slam my door in her face or tell her to go fuck herself, which I'm sure some people do. I just don't understand how my telling her my beliefs on religion when she was offering me religion is the same as someone saying they hate Jews.
Oh well. He's Chris. I guess that's just the way he is.
My dad, on the other hand, started laughing when I told him what happened. He said I should've asked her where to find peace because he was looking for it. Earlier he said he was looking for peace in the garage, but I don't think he'll find it there. Or in the fridge. Or his room. Or anywhere in this house where he was looking.
Anyway... I've been reading this Harry Potter fanfic, After the End, for the past two or three days. It has 43 chapters in all I'm on chapter 35. I think I'll be done tonight or tomorrow, which means I'm gonna have to find more things with which to distract myself. Hopefully they'll involve friends, water balloons, and a Twister mat. XD
Speaking of water balloons and Twister... I made up a new game. I bet you can't guess what it's called. I'll give you a second. ... It's called water balloon Twister. HA! Bet you didn't get it. XP But! If anyone Jesika and I like wants to play with us, call or IM or something cause it's lots and lots of fun. It's just like Twister except it's outside and the spinner randomly throws water balloons at the mat. XD
So... my summer has been going well so far. I wish I could drive, though. AND I wish I had money. Oh well.
But! If anyone wants to play with me, you should IM me or leave me comments, cause I can tell I'm gonna get the urge to play very soon. :)
