Oakland Adventures #24: an end to Livejournal posting?

Jan 23, 2010 22:29

finishing recording for the upcoming Farewell Typewriter album right now. sitting in a hotel room which for some reason has several empty 2 liter apple juice containers in the dresser. Also, the bathroom door is crap. We might be trapped in the shitter in the case of a fire. I'm scurred.

I'm still working on my Fun-A-Day / Song a day project. I'm very happy with it, and hope to have it provide me with the starter material for a solo album in the spring. This is one of the most productive and helpfully challenging things I've done in years, and so far it has turned out very well. The big work now is developing the website to host the material on.

now, I will say this: livejournal just presented me with a dilemma. I logged on, only to be greeted with a pop-up advertisement. I had to wait for it to load before I was able to enter the site. Put simply, this is something I'm not willing to tolerate. So...maybe I'll actually start using my blogger account now - it was inevitable anyway, wasn't it? this site has been going that way since the day I signed up, and very few people read this anyway. Not to mention, not knowing who's reading or why has allowed me to meander endlessly with my posts! That and I never really set out to make a proper blog. Perhaps it is time to trim the fat. One more pop-up is all it will take, and then I swear I'm not coming back. So, this may in fact be my penultimate post.

That said: ideas for my new (proper) blog? got a nice camera you want to give me? *sigh*....do my entries stay up indefinitely on livejournal? I really don't look forward to finding a way to back them up somewhere. Much confusion. In any case, I encourage you to chime in with a comment and give me some feedback - I could use it!
