Post AC
I got back from AC on Monday, and then worked the rest of the week. It's been kind of a crazy last month for me, what with moving, new job, then getting ready for AC on top of it.
Anthrocon was great. Thursday night I got in just in time to semi-crash the Sofawolf Norguard release party. It was nice to see Brer and Alopex and Blotch and Ursala Vernon in a much more relaxed and informal gathering than on the other side of a table or at dinner with 20 other people. Friday was art show setup, and then selling hella mad product from the Fur Planet table. Sales were good all weekend, there wasn't one single product that flew off the shelves to the exclusion of others. One thing I like about being at a dealer's table is that usually everyone makes a lap or three around the room, so I don't get the feeling of 'Oh, you were there and I never even saw you' as much as some people. I still may not get to see people as much as I want (I'm looking at you, Jacent) but it's nice.
Friday night was a pretty big deal. I finally got to the restaurant Seviche, which I've heard wonderful things about for year. They're all true. The Closest thing to a 'problem' was that we never actually got a table. They said it'd be 30-45 minutes, but the never called us. We were just at the bar. We could get food, and got a couple drinks and one of our plates on the house, and it was still totally worth it. Best scallops ever... Then was the big sofawolf party, and the Germans and their Jaeger machine, ducking out for a bit to go up to November's cupcake party, going back to the Sofawolf party by way of Sparf's room, almost breaking Uncle Kage in half when I heard about NY gay marriage bill... The only problem was that at the end of the night I realized my bag was missing and I couldn't find it. I was a little pissed, but it was in Sparf's room the whole time, and he dropped it off the next morning at the table.
Saturday was pretty low key, still reeling from Friday night, did the dealer's room, hung out, got dinner at Sushi Kim with Flatrat, Roochak, hung out in the zoo and then chatted with Teiran, Fuzz, Cyanni and Ifirtx.
Sunday was also pretty epic, Dealing during the day, got an interview with Peter Beagle, author of The Last Unicorn, then five partied it up... Dinner at Tonic, then chilling with the Fur Planet people, then November's room, then Luna's room, then 4 1/2 in front of the Westin, then gojikai back in Rikoshi's room.
Monday morning sucked, as a series of minor delays added up to almost missing my flight out of Pittsburgh. I made it by the skin of my teeth, then wound up using the super shuttle to get home since no one was available to pick me up at the airport till much much later.
The rest of the week has mostly been me chilling and trying to get more settled. Getting closer, but still not there yet... hopefully this long weekend will help me get there.
