Post Con Wrap Up

So I went to Furry Fiesta this past weekend. I had a really good time all in all... I flew in Friday, and landed just in time to get to the dealer's room as it opened. Fur Planet was pretty busy for pretty much the entire con, whether it was with customers or just friends stopping by to hang out and chat. The new Roar did ok, something like 15 copies moved. I'm hoping that it'll get some more love through mail order and coming cons.

There was a lot of laid back hanging out. I was introduced to 'funky juice', which almost but not quite lead to -ageddonevening. I was only saved by the fact that the Peruvian place had more attractive non-alcoholic drinks and didn't put bar drinks on the menu.

It was mostly a nice hang out con, in the lobby bar, in hotel rooms, at the Unsheathed podcast. One of the biggest highlights was making it onto Rikoshi's top ten gaming moments list in his Star Wars gaming one-shot. I rolled a natural 1 (botch) on trying to use a computer. I parlayed that a couple rounds later into the single-handed complete and utter destruction of a complete squadron of storm troopers and black sun warehouse while taking almost no damage.

Rikoshi liked his coffee, we had Waffle House, and damnit I still didn't get a chance to try the Timark wine, despite having a bottle there.

I also read Black Dogs 1 and 2 while traveling, and reunited a grateful cellphone with Rolokoda.

Despite it being a small(er) con, I still managed to miss hanging out with some people I'd really like to spend time with. It's ok though, as some people just treat cons differently than I do. I'm not a big run-around see everyone, high energy guy like some people. That's one of the few drawbacks to the con's rapid growth... Nice that everyone is there, but it cuts down into the time per-person you get to spend.
