Initial opinions of Windows 7 aren't exactly favorable. The install process was not quite painless, as Windows initially didn't want to recognize the hard drive I had for it. Apparently xp made it a dynamic disk and Windows 7 couldn't deal with it. The next problem was that the product key that came with the disk (brand new, mind you) came back as invalid. The final problem was with the ATI catalyst driver. I installed it three times and it still refused to work, leaving me with a generic driver and no dual monitor support. While not officially a problem, I'm not pleased by the system font, and the icons don't seem to be that pretty. That part may be me being grumpy and resistant to change. We'll see how things look once I get the other problems resolved and use the system for a while.
