Well that was fun. I'm sure a million people will be writing about how they had fun at Leeds so i might as well do the same. Not sure where to start theres so much to try and fit in.
So we got there Thursday having had a bit of a shitty trip, it was a bit cramped and frustrating at times but then again it was only what i expected. Ant, the Parkers and the Cheeky Monkey crew were all on board so it was an entertaining trip. Got there and found the most furthest section as we always seem to. It seems to be one thing at Leeds that we always do, find the nice quiet section which is always the farthest away. Nevermind its worth the hassle of carting your gear miles plus we're away from the dickheads. Everyone was already there having got up in their cars so we pitched up with them and got drinking. Had a little wander to scope the place out and get our wristbands then it was back to the camp and then for the fun to begin. Somewhere along the line Dave coined the saying Camp Sexy and from then on we were Camp Sexy. Everyone got fucked, had a wicked laugh and fun was had. I set firecrackers off and made friends with the guys next to us. I threw a little one on Dave and he shiy himself and jumped around like a crazy man. Heavy night, half a bottle of vodka and many beers were consumed.
Friday we got up bright and early thinking it was about 10 or so but infact was only 8 doh! Cooked up some breakfast and tea via Dan's stove and Ants tea bags. I brought some bacon with me in a cooler so we were good to go. Hit the Carling Stage first off to see an impressive Forward Russia and a truley shitty Crimea. The thing with them was that they didnt look like a band, the singer was a great front man and i was impressed with him. The bass player looked a right freak and the songs were all drivel. I say they were shit but they were but they were entertaining and i guess thats gotta be a good thing. Then about 2 minutes into Gratitude we left, emo pop arse. I hear the singer is a bit of legend as well. Whatever he was good at must have been in the past because these dudes sucked. Mill around the main stage to see Alkaline Trio and FFAF, both failed to impress me big time. I like both of these bands as well but the sound on there is really wishy washy and they failed to impress. FFAF did a better job though simply because they have much better material. Again they looked very odd, the two guitar players looked dead old and very out of place in a band like that. Saw Battle, was looking forward to them because ive heard a little bit about them but they were just a bit rubbish and didnt really have any songs that caught my ear. The Rifles were good though.
Then came the highlight of my weekend, just before Amusement Parks came on me and Chris saw Mike from Oceansize!!!!!!!!! We went upto him and chatted, i had my 'size shirt on as well so i scored major fanboy points for that. He was telling us about the Cardiacs touring again so im defo gonna see them when they are about instead of going to the London gig. He was a really nice guy though and very very cool. We got our picture's taken with stupid grins and headed off a joyfull pair of lads! Amusement Parks kicked ass after that and so did the Engineers. Futureheads and Bloc Party were awesome as well but the tent was far to rammed. They need to make that stage a proper outdoors one like in Glasto but i guess that would be pretty hard considering the lack of space. Oh yeah we made a Camp Sexy flag up as well out of some pink table cloth and cain we bought. Also made up chants as well and sung them everywhere we went haha. We had people coming up to us asking what it was and people giving others directions to where we were stood cos we were a good marker lol. Man that was the funniest shit ever. Camp sexy rules ok 2005!
Got back to the camp site and boozed up again, lots of funny stories and going's off i cant be arsed to explain them all but i have some of the funniest mates ever. When we're all together its just quality. Saturday was fun, met up with the Cheeky Monkey crew again and got into a water fight with Amanda and Sophie because they thought it would be funny to squirt me with their water guns, needless to say dispte my best efforts they kicked my butt. Me and Ant had our shirts off most of the day getting tanned up but i just got red and most of my body is still white anyways so it was a bit failed haha. Yourcodenameis milo were great, so were Elbow and QOTSA tho we left them near the end to see 65 days of static who were good. That stage is a great idea but it needs to be away from the main area cos its hard to hear well with the other stages and fair blerting out. The arena itself needs to be bigger and more open. Got home and danced to some drum n bass thanks to the guys next door. They were from Watford and it was their first festival and they said that having us there made it that little bit better lol. I think it must be a southern thing because they all like dnb and not so many people up here are down with it.
Sunday, Ant and Dan set themselves on fire in the evening by lighting poppers! Fucking funny it was proper hugh flames as well on Dans jacket n shirt! Love them boys. During the day it was a bit slow. Hung around the main stage with Ant. Drank lots of watery Carling, went to find some chocolate with Amanda but only ended up getting a pizza for £6 which was a complete rip off. The food prices have seriously gone up and i was not fucking happy. Everytime i bought something i moan like a fucking bastard to the staff and they were complete wankers half the time. I went to buy a bottle of water from a burger stall and when the guy asked for 2 quid i laughed at him and told him to "get fucked if im paying 2 quid for shitting water" and walked off. I just stuck my head under the taps on the water sinks, free baby fuck you coperate wankers. Got talking to this lass from Wigan whilst watching the Kings of Leon. She was mega hot and had the best Manc accent! She gave me and Ant 2 spliffs and some water so we loved her. Foo Fighters were awesome when they came on, the usual FF show which is tight as fuck and rocking as hell, the best sorta show we like at Camp Sexy!
All in all i had a sexy sexy time and got upto some sexy sexy stuff with some of the best people in the world. Meadley came down a few times but didnt camp with us which was a shame, the times he came down we were all a bit pooped and not in the mood to party so he missed lots. But we had a massive camp with loads of us there and we rocked Leeds for another year. Everyone was on top form, everyone had fun and everyone will take some great memories away. My favourite has to be when this drunk guy passed our near us in the arena and Dave and Ant pretended to bum him whilst he was down for the count. When he eventually got up about 1 hour later in comdey styleee his trousers fell down as he walked along and the guys who took pity on him and carried him away had to do them back up! Funniest thing ive seen for a while, that was until them pair set themsevles on fire. Great to also get know the Cheeky Monkey crew better as well they are a good bunch of guys. Shawn and Scott are quality guys and Amanda and Sophie are both amazing. Me and Amanda have the exact sence of humour she's great, but i prefer Sophie though she's got something about her that really gets me going lol.
