Hee, thanks for being on the lookout, but I've actually both finally found the Serenity RPG at a store in Lawrence (love that new Goblin Games place) and gotten my own (from Mel's parents as a Christmas gift . . . she swears she didn't give them the idea).

It's an interesting system, with some very good things (I like the basic idea of the dice system, the fact that ships use about the same rules as people, the skill/specialty system), some very yrnx? things (I ran it through the "Jayne taking a potshot surprise attack at Two-Fry with his sniper rifle" test and found that not only couldn't he kill him, he probably couldn't kill Kaylee, either; also Zoe totally has fewer hit points than Inara, which is just wrong), and some very frustrating things (I've been poring over the book for quite a while now, and I still don't know what to tell a player to roll if he says, "I want to punch this guy.").

It definitely suffers from incompleteness covered up with, "Well, the DM can just make it up," in way too many instances. Hopefully the maybe-soon-to-be-released GM's guide will help out with that.
