Another weekend photo today, because not much happened that was particularly photographable, and I've been too tired tonight to get all crafty.
On Sunday morning, before it was possible to get a hot breakfast anywhere, we passed through the homestead that Barnaby is staying in to drop off and pick up bits and pieces and to have coffee (very important). The location is fantastic - I took some photos including some of birds in the trees taken at 30x zoom. I could identify the galahs easily enough but this bird I wasn't so sure of. It was only when I viewed it on the monitor that I realised it was a bird of prey - I suppose being at the very tippy-top of the tree and not in a more secure position might have been a give away...
A bit of a look through some websites on Australian birds of prey leads me to believe this is a Black Shouldered Kite.
