Sorry for not posting lately.
Friday was the talent show. Lots of talented people (hence the name). Rosa won third and got $25, Chelsea won second and got $50 and Rachel stole the first place and the $250. Grace gets kudos also. She did an amazing job. And congrats to everyone who tried out.
Saturday was SciOly (Science Olympiad) competition. We were so excited beacuse for the past three years that the SFHS SciOly team has gone to regionals, we got fifth place and the top four get to go to state. I couldn't wait to go because I was a freshman and I got to be in three events (Dynamic Planet, Storm the Castle and Bottle Rocket). Dynamic Planet was me and Stephen K. We got first place of 12, so we must've done something right. We just took a test on glaciers. That's what that event was. Then came Storm the Castle. This was an event that Peter and I were in. We got to fire a trebuchet and we practically BSd the whole thing. In the end, we got tenth of 12 and we got a cool orange ribbon. The ribbons only went up to tenth place. Finally, I was in Bottle Rocket. This was Brice and me. We shot them off, but apparently they changed the rules on us and we had to rip off the streamers and take off the metal string that attached the cone to the bottle. In that event, whatever piece of the rocket hits the ground first stops the timer. Our second rocket got 3. something seconds, since the streamers and the cone were detached, but our first one got 6.22 which is pretty good. We ended up stealing fifth place for that one. In the end, the top four teams go to state and we got fourth, but this year, they decided to let the fifth place team go to, so we were kinda mad, but we're going to state!
Today I did two projects, one due tomorrow and the other due Tuesday. Tomorrow is the start of after school Seussical practices. I hope we end up doing really well in it, especially since the Tenors end up singing higher than the Sopranos.
Oh, and by the way, Grizzle told me to talk to him this upcoming week about singing in festival with Southside and about being the Tenor in the quartet next year. He told me that I am a real Tenor, and that real Tenors are hard to come by!
Over, and out.
