Good Times

Wow... what an insane weekend. It all started with the Goo Goo Dolls and Counting Crows concert at Pine Knob. The GGDs were amazing. I've never gotten goosebumps at a concert before.

After the concert was a different story. The Counting Crows were horrible, so we left early. Then someone decided to rear-end my car, leaving us on the side of the road as a drunk driver ran into another car. Didn't get home til late, and the Jen(n) Ks were both sore.

Then Saturday I went to camp reunion. I ended up staying at camp until yesterday night. I love being out in the woods, working with children, and being with such selfless people. Pendalouan has to be one of the greatest places on earth. At one meal, the Cheers theme song came into my head, it's a place were everyone knows my name. I know that sounds corny, but its so nice. Several of the campers from last year automatically ran at me screaming "KROOOOOOOOOG!" and gave me huge hugs. Last nights campfire was sadder than last years closing. Last year I was content on moving on, this year I wanted to stay. Lori gave me a staff t-shirt, but I'll always feel a little cheap wearing it knowing that some people gave up their entire summers for that, while I volunteered a weekend for it.

My next step is to convince my boss to let me off work a week early and let me volunteer a week at camp. That might satisfy my craving of acting goofy and making children laugh.

Lastly, I got home very late last night after a long drive. My mom was awake, worried because I hadn't called (my cell phone died of course). I went to bed feeling unresponsible. I woke up feeling sick to the stomach and shivering. I slept all day besides trying to figure out how to get my car fixed. Insurance companies are evil.

I bought Jack Johnson's "Thicker Than Water" soundtrack. I can't wait to listen to it.

Long, but refreshing, weekend. I love camp. Car accidents suck. The Goo Goo Dolls need to play longer sets.
