It has been over 3 months since I’ve had a real entry…I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.

Find out

I still have lots of Ochem to study after this but I’m gonna try to fit this entry in. I referred back to past entries and it was April 3, when I went to an asiannola picnic by the Lakefront. Lots of [random] things have happened since then, so I guess I’m going to try and recap events/things that stand out (or whatever comes to mind). Pictures will be linked to my LJ because I don’t want to annoy your subscription list with a conglomeration of my bad quality pics, lol…=P I also noticed that I haven’t updated LJ in a long time either…

1. Season 5 of “HBO’s Def Poetry Jam”<-- mindblowingly awesome, lol…Season 3 DVD is coming out next month! Jimmy Tran, I’m waiting for your showcase, haha…Ep. 38 if I recall? =P

2. July 3, Versai Church is the Summer Shindig; I was supposed to do the Napoleon Dynamite dance, lmao, but then I realized that I don’t think I’ll have time to do it, hehe…then again, I may surprise…

3. Speaking of dances, I’m in the process of choreographing a BoA medley for Entertainment Night on Sat. September 10 at UNO’s UC ballroom (6-9pm?). I’m trying to find some dancers though, hehe…I think it’s going to be a lot of fun (difficult, but fun). There’s supposed to be a lot of different acts (poetry, singing, dancing, etc…). Oddly enough, I think I may be the only performance that features foreign pop, haha…nice. We need some different music for once, especially amongst the young asian (american) population here in N.O. Foreign pop (regardless of origin) is just as good as American music. Hope people are open to what’s considered a different genre in America. =)

4. I WILL get to my vascon one. entry and you vascon-nites whom I promised a video for. I’m kinda working on a spoken word piece about vascon two..(and a reflection of vascon one.). Btw, those aren’t the colors of the next conference. =P I still get in slight withdrawal when I see past pics/video. I miss you guys...always a pleasure to talk to ya. *inserts high five to Jackie Le*

5. Organic Chemistry has been kicking my arse…it’s so depresssing. I didn’t do well on the first summer session and technically I’ not supposed to take the first one but looks like I’m still registered for that and the lab. On the plus side, I own in lab, lol…I’m just gonna have to bust my arse this session in addition to the other things I’m going to do (such as volunteering at Children’s Hospital and random events/goals). Recently, I took my first test of the 2nd session; I think I understand the material better this session than last, but we’ll see…

6. On April 23, I performed in an Import Car Show at the Ponchartrain Center. My group got 3rd, but I’m really proud of Skullay and Mai since we pulled it together within a week (and restless, tiring nights/early mornings). The turnout could’ve been better, but the event was alright. I didn’t expect the dance battle, lol, which I knew who would have won.

7. I went to Braccato’s Italian Ice cream, Jacquesimo’s, and Ninja’s for the first time. Yummy places, and almost always packed. The restaurants were kinda pricy but the food still “rock-n-rolled.” =P

8. School: During the spring, people were attacked by caterpillars, lol. There were so many on the sidewalk that had splattered guts. =P And some fell onto people and bit them (eek!). They should just stay in their trees and turn into butterflies, lol…
Towards the end of the semester, I came out of the library to find a surprise encounter of Mikomo. I looked around and members of the Halo crew were taking part in a school prank (even though none of them attend Loyola). Here was the plan: at 2pm, a guy would run from the back of the library to the front and out the side door, naked, wearing battle armor, holding two swords, and speaking in some weird Irish accent. Meanwhile, another guy would blast “March of the Valkyries,” lol… the guy would jump into the back of the pickup truck (waiting outside) and all wold drive away to Cane’s. =P

9. The End of the Year Banquet turned out to be sorta ok. It started on time and everything was pretty set, but the turnout was bad due to the change in date (day before finals). So mostly alumni peeps came, but it’s all good, hehe…because I also got a copy of the Date Auction DVD, lol…=P

10. I went to my first funeral. =/ His anme was Peter Mok and he was an active member of my church (nocbc). He was loved by many, although I didn’t really know him (nor his family) that well. And there was also another unfortunate death of an Xavier student, Van Le. =( God rest their soul. =)

11. Went to the VIP room of Drago’s for East Jefferson After Hours appreciation party. I got to eat a lobster which I haven’t eaten in so many years. It was very yummy. =)

12. Many people from my church graduated or left out of town-‘twas sad. So there were a lot of graduation dinners, crawfish boils, and parties. Speaking of graduations, I went to Jesuit’s high school graduation which I haven’t gone since high school. Nothing has changed, format the same. Although for some reason, no offense, I think that over the years, the out of staters/talent has gone down since my year.

13. I played a lot of Monopoly, and even busted out my old ’95 limited editoin set. I always lose in that game, lol, unless I’m working in teams. =P It’s still kinda fun nonetheless.

14. Helped out at the APAS Heritage Festival, celebrating Festivals fo Asia, held at Audubon Zoo. There were more food booths and gift booths. AASIA had a toy booth (which didn’t do too well) and LASO had a Lemonade, Pork/Chicken shish-ka-bob booth (which did decent). The weather was and has been hot as usual.

15. My laptop had a hard drive problem and malfunctioned. I was scared that I would lose all of my data, which took me so long to put on. And it would’ve taken awhile to burn all of it on CDs. So my goal was to put it on 6 or 7 DVD-R’s, but that took awhile too (trying to select what to burn). In the meantime, I got to use a temporary Gateway laptop which was really sweet. =P It had nearly everything in one machine. But I eventually got my old laptop back so it’s all good. =)

16. There were a lot of birthdays, and I tried to at least comment or something to give my wishes. I went to Bravo’s for Mary Yu’s birthday dinner, which had a very good turnout (about 23 peeps). Then, went bowling afterward, which many people broke nails. =P At the Yu household, the family celebrated Father’s day and Mary’s birthday.

Happy Fourth of July everyone!

Assorted Gelato is my favorite, hehe. =) I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place earlier!

The owner came up to us and gave us free drinks for because one of the peeps whom I went with was from Houston, lol (although he’s been there before). Instead, we got free dessert. =P

NINJA’s! Also on Oak St. They have a Confucius roll, lol…

Looks like a yummy caterpillar, lol…

Pretty.

The winners, woohoo, I’m proud of yall; knew yall could handle it.

One of the practices at hollywoo’s house, hehe…

The not-so-yummy caterpillar. o.O

The pickup truck waiting outside to drive off with everyone, hehe…

But first the crew getting some lunch in the Underground. =P

A shot from banquet held in the St. Charles Rm. That day sucked for me academically, for I had, I think 6 or 8 papers due the next morning. >.<

The funeral visiting service-very sad.

The EJAH crew taking a picture before dinner.

A goodbye lunch at SAKE Café in Kenner.

Celebrating Jim’s graduation and birthday, hehe…

Another shot.

Tulane graduation dinner at 9 roses over on the westbank.

Pic outside.

Afterward, went to Annie’s house to show each other some dance moves and watch the Date Auction DVD; I found out that there was actually a menu! Koolness…

Jesuit’s graduation in the Municipal Auditorium. Once again, with 276 graduates, the event lasted an hour. Leaves just enough time for dinner.

Went to Joe’s Crabshack afterward, lol, which was funny to see so many Asian (americans) go to, especially the parents. =P I think our waitress got annoyed with us, but oh well, doubt I’d be going there anytime soon.

The crawfish boil at Uncle Fok’s house was awesome; the crawfish and spice ingredients were perfect. And I got to meet some new people. =)

The pastor and his wife invited the youth to come to his house to celebrate the going away of the graduated.

The best dish they had; 2 of them too!

The AASIA booth at the Asian/Pacific American Society festival.

The LASO booth, hehe…=)

The goods. I think it was 2 tickets for a shish-ka-bob, 2 for small lemonade and 3 for a large.

My temporary computer, with its widescreen monitor, 2.4 Ghz, DVD-RW, and more…

Most of the peeps at the long table (more behind me).

Mikomo, Shau, and Winnie.

One of the desserts that Shau and I got for Mary. The picture was taken before we went to 360 last year.

I got the privilege to eat my head, lol…

Chez Pieere’s cake. Scrumptious!

Mary and her parents.

Time for random pics (don’t ya love them?!):

Since when did this come out, Lol! Hilarious.

The stairway in my church that leads to the cross in the sanctuary. So scary…

Compi and Jim showcasing their skill.

For the longest time, I’ve seen the guy on the right at Starbucks, and he’s usually with someone. Who is he? He’s a director of an upcoming movie. And the guy on the left is one fo the actors (not famous). The movie is called Execution, so I’m confused as to why they’re here but oh well.

I didn’t know Street fighter Ex 3 gave the option of having 4 players simultaneously on one screen to battle it out. That was waay kool. It was funny because me and Winnie would beat the hardest duos, whereas Jim and I could not.

I helped move a piano one day and got treated to China Express (Williams Blvd.). I certainly got stuffed with food. I hate the initial feeling of being too full (poor stomach).

In front of my new house, there was a bird struggle, lol; I didn’t see it but apparently, a bird was fighting for his/her life. Feathers were spread out and some feathers were really big.

Last Thursday, Mary, Winnie, Shau, and myself went to Mikomo’s house to cook. This cheesy rigatoni dish came out well. We also made a spinach artichoke dish which turned out ok.

The peach shortcake dish came out alright. Peaches, ice cream, shortcake.

And that concludes one of my boring entries…tune into next time.
