Graduate schools are maddeningly vague when it comes to response times. Most suggest that applicants will have responses by the end of February, or in early March. I think that this now qualifies as late February, and I find that I can barely think of anything else.

Does anyone recall a particular story-arc in "Calvin and Hobbes" where Calvin eats several boxes of Chocolate-Frosted Sugar Bombs in order to send away for a propeller beanie? It turns out to require six weeks for delivery. In one strip, after Calvin's griping, Hobbes says, "Maybe the mailman made a special extra trip today and delivered it in the last five minutes." Calvin sprints to the mailbox in anticipation.
