At this very moment, three of my professors might be staring at an in-box full of messages, each of which is a variation on "please write a letter of recommendation for this student."
I don't like to bother people, but sometimes you have to do so. For example, when applying to graduate school, sometimes you have to pester people until they do what they agreed to do. But I don't like pestering people. It is all I can do to remind myself that, if they didn't want to write me a letter, they would have already declined.
I have waived my right to review the letters. I can't imagine any situation in which I would want to know what my professors are writing about me.
