Movie reviews

Last night I watched "Hitman" and this morning I watched "Stargate: the Ark of Truth" and "Awake." All of them rocked in their own way.

I've never played the game Hitman but this movie may have convinced me to give it a whirl. Timothy Olyphant looked *hot* in his role. He didn't have any of the usual creepiness he exuded in "The Girl Next Door" and it took me a while to recognize him. The plot was a little predictable (aren't they all?) but still entertaining.

Favorite line:
Agent 47: Because that suitcase perfectly holds my Blazer Sniper Rifle 2.45 and a gag for irritating, talkative little girls like yourself. You want me to stop and get it out?
Nika Boronina: I don't know - you think we have time for foreplay?

Cheap but good BD reference.

Watching Stargate gave me some much needed closure (shut up) on the series. When it ended, I had so many questions that weren't really resolved in Stargate: Atlantis. And it brought *almost* every one of my favorite characters back. And I got to see Sarah Strange once again as the ever-hot Morgan Lefay (Yeah, I watched 'The Pegasus Project' a few times.).

I just finished up "Awake" and was not at all surprised by it. I called it from the beginning. I even suspected that the trailer was a bit of a setup (Thank you 'Bug' for making me learn *that* lesson.) and was very skeptical about the plot. I was a bit surprised by Hayden Christiansen's acting.

On a similar note, I'm thinking about joining Netflix. The way I'm going with movies, it takes too much time to stop on by the video store. I need a constant stream. Plus, I did the math and, if I watch four movies a week, it averages out to something cheaper than the video store (even with the MVP). I'll probably take a few more days to mull it over.
