And I did it again
I got through two completely awesome weekends and didn't write one fucking entry. I need a better way of doing this. Hell, I might even go back to hand writing entries to be typed up later. My social life is picking up in a major way. Things are great, until I get overwhelmed. The remedy for that is to just sit at my desk in the dark and just absorb the quiet.
NWLC was awesome. I now know the joys of having a hotel room at a convention. And I recommend it to anyone attending a con. We stayed on the second floor of the DoubleTree in rooms that shared a communal deck. We had snacks and drinks in coolers and stuff that could be heated up in the various crock pots we had. The only food we bought at the hotel was the breakfast buffet on the last day.
My first of two shifts started with me getting dropped off at the storage space to load all of the dungeon equipment we would need onto the rental truck. First shift is always a bitch if you're the first one there because people tend to trickle in. Once everyone showed up it went faster. Got the truck loaded, scored a ride to the hotel, and we had ourselves a caravan to the hotel. Once there, we off-loaded everything onto the loading dock. Then crammed as much stuff as we could into the service elevator (We learned all of this the last time.) and, from there, into the ballrooms. Set up was easy since I had seen most of the furniture assembled before.
