Two days without internet... not fun.

Twilight: This movie confused the hell out of me. There are other options other than hunting animals or feeding on humans. Try robbing a blood bank (Vampire: The Masquerade) or talk to your local butcher about buying pig's blood by the quart (My Best Friend's a Vampire). Or, if you're daring enough, set up a collection of *willing* humans that come and give blood on a regular basis (Vampire: The Masquerade). None of these were brought up, nor was a valid reason given as to why these simple solutions wouldn't work. If reasons why any of these methods wouldn't work were brought up in the book, then the movie gets a fail. Also, what was so hot about Robert Pattinson? He was so dark and brooding I expected the local emo crowd to go over and try to cheer him up. Also, I thought Michael Welch was much hotter (Though I liked him better in Stargate SG-1.). I guess it was over-hyped.

Jane Austen Book Club: I'll admit, I was more interested in the actresses (Specifically Maria Bello and Amy Brenneman) when I first rented this, but I genuinely enjoyed it from beginning to end. Does it make me want to go out and read a bunch of Jane Austen books? No, but I'd definitely watch the movie again.

Eagle vs. Shark: This movie reminded me a lot of "Napoleon Dynamite" but without all the frelling "OMG" hype... so I liked it a little better. I did want to smack the female lead around a little bit but, other than that, it was somewhat enjoyable.

Until I get a more sustainable form of income, I paused my Netflix account before it billed this month. I actually timed it so I would receive my four last movies. I should be getting them today and will have seven days to return them or suffer massive late fees. As far as a job, my friend in Morgan Hill keeps getting calls from his old boss at The Tutoring Club so I might have an in there. It appears that the commute to Morgan Hill would be slightly less annoying than the commute to Los Altos. Plus, it's a more laid-back environment.

Recently I've seen this Honda Civic commercial where two guys are driving down a road and, at a certain point, the car starts playing music. At first, I thought it had something to do with the GPS. When I did a little research, I found out that it had to do with bumps on the road and the vehicle's suspension. Then I got to thinking. How much time, energy and money was wasted on pulling this off when those resources could've been put to more useful endeavors such as designing a car that gets better than 36 MPG (My 2002 Saturn SL-1 currently gets 33.)?

Oh, and I realized how much of a Californian I was when I felt the earthquake and didn't even bother getting off the couch. Honestly, I don't know what my family in Minnesota is thinking. They have winter weather out there that kills. Here the ground shakes a little. Shaking ground never killed anyone. What falls down *because* of the shaking ground usually injures or kills, but that's because it wasn't built to code.

netflix, earthquake, update, movies, possible job, commercial
