I don't get it.
Ok, back when I first started college, there was a really cool lyric site where a person could go and look up a song by title, artist, or lyrics. Needless to say I used it *a lot,* and I had a neighbor that posted lyrics to it almost every week. It rocked. I was able to track down information about a lot of songs that I knew nothing about other than the few lyrics I could remember. Then, the record companies stepped in claiming copyright infringement with a whole bunch of legal jargon that I was too confusing to follow and they forced the site to shut down. The site came up and was subsequently shut down three times before all the legal kinks were worked out. However, now, there are (dare I say) hundreds of thousands of sites that have lyrics posted on them. What the fuck happened? Why aren't the record companies going after all these other sites?
