The party on Saturday (11/22) was nice and big. Setting up was more elaborate than last time and the food rocked. I was a bit more social than last time and just focused on hanging out. Toward the end, I ended up giving a foot massage in the social area (Which was, in no way, shape or form a "scene" since scening is not allowed in the social area.). Those little sighs were cute. 8) I also gave myself an assignment for next time. Time will tell on that. When the party closed down, I felt an immediate energy drain. I felt like I was going to pass out right there in the social area. I quickly said my goodbyes and jetted out of there. I don't remember the drive home, but I, apparently, got gas. Kinda scary.
On Sunday (11/23) I went to B's to play Fallout 3. I am so addicted to this game. I encountered my first mutant; big fuckers that are difficult to kill, but they can drop miniguns. I've taken to trying to sell just about everything I can get my hands on. Getting a domicile in Megaton was tricky. I managed to kill Mr. Burke and strip him of his stuff. I also worked on maximizing my experience points. Whenever I came across a computer terminal tied to a lock, I'd pick the lock first (Something I'm getting better at.), then hack the computer (I love those puzzles.). I got annoyed that I'd found an ammunition box that I couldn't pick, but I couldn't take it with me either. Ammo boxes are pretty easy to pry open, given the right tools. Yet another frustration I have with the game. Oh and the constant freezing is getting annoying as well. Luckily, it only happens indoors and the game autosaves every time I walk inside somewhere. I got a little frustrated navigating around the HQ in Germantown; way too many mines and traps. Toward the end, I tried to do evil in Megaton and found out that everyone has a weapon and most people can shoot through walls. It was still pretty fun.
When I got home, I found that I could no longer connect to the "free" internet I've been getting for the past few months. When I went back to dial-up, a "restricted" screen came up. WTF? I didn't want to deal with it and did a few rounds on Diablo II: LOD. Since I worked on putting one point into every skill, I got to play around with different attack combinations. Very cool. Some of them can be especially cheap.
Monday (11/24) was weird; I kept thinking it was Tuesday. I checked email at work. I perused everything and did a full body twitch when I caught up on TNG messages. The next meeting should be... interesting. I decided against heading up to the Santa Cruz munch and, instead, headed home. A message from mom was waiting for me there. I tagged her back and when we finally connected, she surprised me. She dropped $300 in my checking and $100 in my savings (Happy Birthday!). The $300 was for a shopping spree to get new clothes (shoes, pants, a sweater and a shirt) for Thanksgiving. I wasn't going to argue.
Tuesday (11/25) was a blur. I thought it was Monday for the longest time. I headed to the mall and picked up a pair of work boots that could pass for dress-casual. I also got the pants, belt, sweater and shirt. I was astonished that I'd lost two inches off my waist. I headed directly to work from the mall. It was a light day and I was out of there in no time. I skipped the work meeting that night in order to attend subspace. That really helped center me. It dredged up a lot of old memories that I had tucked away in the back of my mind.
More to come later.
