Weekend Recap

Visited with B down in Morgan Hill both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we played "Dawn of War". It's pretty addictive, but we were getting very frustrated when the different computer players seemed to gang up on us right from the get-go. We dialed it down to Easy and added one more computer; that seemed to stop the mad rushing. E came over a bit later and we watched some highlights from The Colbert Report and Door to Door. E had never seen it before and I hadn't seen it in a long while. I forgot how much I loved how they told the stories in the background. You can't just put it on and walk away, you have to pay attention and keep track of who's who. Afterwards, E headed home and B and I put the smack down on the computer a few more times. We called it a night around 2:00am (Damn I miss Starbashing.) and agreed to meet up tomorrow night for food and a movie at his neighbor's house.

Sunday morning was difficult. I didn't sleep well at all that night. For some reason, my blankets kept migrating to the head of the bed and were being utilized as pillows. This would have been alright for a warmer night, except I was freezing and kept waking up and getting confused of how the blankets kept moving. I awoke the next morning with the beginnings of a headache at the top of my forehead. That's the one place I can't stand pain. All throughout the morning I had light sensitivity issues and problems reading printed text. It didn't even occur to me to pop my usual pain relief cocktail until two hours later (Yeah, pain there really debilitates me.). I popped the cocktail and took a nap on the couch. I awoke a little out of it, but without any pain. Minor chores got done until it got close to movie time. I got ready and waited for B to pick me up. I noticed that the trip down and back to Morgan Hill always seems shorter when I'm in the passenger seat. We got to his neighbor's house a few minutes late. The salad and pasta was excellent and the two-buck-chuck cabernet was very smooth. While we ate, we watched "Recount". It's been popping up on Netflix every now and then, but I've always skipped over it. It was an interesting view into the recount boondoggle and we had an interesting discussion afterwards.

The wine reminded me that I really want to do a SX wine tasting at the winery in Morgan Hill. I know my job search keeps on getting in the way (which is a good thing, right?), but I really want to introduce people to this amazing place.
