My three drabbles for

1. Future - Harry/Draco - G
The future is a very shaky subject for Harry. He doesn't know what will happen to him. During the coming war with Voldemort, he doesn't know what the outcome will be. Oh, he wishes desperately to know. He hopes he wins and survives but more importantly, he hopes that Hermione and Ron live, along with many other people. He hopes all Death Eaters are locked away and kept at bay. Except one.
The future is something Draco refuses to think about. But in the dark of the night, when there is nothing to keep him otherwise occupied, think he does. He looks at the mark on his forearm with trepidation. He knows there is no future for him, not when that is on his arm, because he knows Harry will win and that all Voldemort's followers will be killed. Even if he only follows out of family pressure, even if he's in love with someone from the other side.
The future is something Harry and Draco only voice when together. When the world is shut away behind the door and no one is there to taint their views. They whisper about living together, about moving to somewhere warm and beautiful. They talk about how they will always love each other, no matter what happens in the future.
2. Book Affair - Irma Pince - G
There is something about the smell of books. The old ones smell tangy but never moldy, not in her library. She would never let that happen. Just like she never lets students rip or tear them. They are her children, and she loves them so.
Her love affair with books started when she was quite young. When she was being potty-trained, her mum would sit her on the toilet and read a story. She was read stories about kings and queens, Quidditch games, kittens, but the one she remembered the most was about a little girl who loved books and grew up to own a library. And that was what Irma wanted so badly.
So when she heard that Dumbledore was searching for a librarian for his school, she was quick to pull up an application. Equally, Dumbledore was quick to hire her, perhaps because of her blatant love for books.
She fingers a stack of fresh books that just came that night. They smell obviously new, invading her senses and demanding her full attention. As she starts putting the books in their proper places, she smiles. Some people think it's odd, her love for her library and books. But she doesn't care, because her books love her back, giving her endless pages of a getaway, of fantasy, of life. They are everything she needs and wants.
3. Simple - Peter/Regulus - G
"What are you reading?" Peter asks, flopping onto the bed beside Regulus. The sounds of Sirius, James, and Remus are in the background, their voices arguing with Mrs Black on the subject of them staying there. Peter listens closer. Mostly it is Mrs Black's shrill voice and Sirius with James chiming in every now and then.
Regulus spares the boy a glance before going back to his text. "About the American war for independence. Why aren't you with your friends?"
Peter shifts on the bed, pulling his legs up underneath him. "I don't like yelling." He pauses and reads a few lines of the book. It looks incredibly boring, though he doesn't like reading to begin with. "Why are you reading about that?"
"It's good to know history."
"But that?" Peter asks skeptically.
Regulus raises an eyebrow and turns to him. "Yes, even this. History teaches us a lot of things."
Peter smiles. "You sound like Remus."
Regulus makes a sound of disgust. He is nothing like that boy.
"Everyone is downstairs," Peter tells him even though it's obvious. "We can, er, can we?" He's not sure how to finish the sentence and so doesn't.
The bed creaks loudly as Regulus sit up and drops the book to the floor. "I guess." And he leans across the distance, latching their lips together. The wonderful thing about Peter is he's simple. Reading books about history and their complexity makes him appreciate Peter. He lowers his hand, knowing Peter will make a keening sound very soon. He does, and Regulus smiles; he loves simplicity.
