How could you be so bold to say that you love me
When the truth is that you don't really know me
You find my actions difficult to comprehend
Because you don't know where I'm coming from, my friend
The person I am today is just a result
Of my experiences as a child and adult
They are very diff'rent from what you have been through
They are still with me like a terrible tattoo
You say that you want me to be your special someone
In a relationship that will never be gone
But for that to happen, you need to understand
Knowledge and time should always be hand in hand
The best thing right now is not to rush it
Let's enjoy the friendship till it's right to commit
In the meantime, let me tell you how thankful I am
For always supporting me the best way you can
For me, you do deserve an A+ for effort
You truly are a genuine source of comfort
You take the little I reveal about myself
And set it aside in your invisible shelf
We may not know what is in store for us
But the journey will definitely be a test
Of whether we are ready for the next level
Or remain characters in a friendship novel
