One of the most difficult things in life is to make calculated risks. Keeping the possibility of failure at its minimum is quite a challenge. People in the business world know this very well. They conduct feasibility studies, SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis, surveys, environmental scanning, undergo training, product testings, hold regular meetings among others. These things have to be done to increase the percentage of success of a business venture.
New companies spend much on making sure that their prospective buyers are well informed of the benefits of their product. This is because most buyers would rather stick to the brand they are used to than take a risk on something new.
It is sad to think that many of us are more careful in making decisions in business and consumer related activities than in more important matters such as relationships. I know of people who would bring out a calculator to compute the amount per gram or milliliter of a product in the grocery but are extremely reckless when choosing a boyfriend or a girlfriend. They make decisions based mainly on the packaging rather the content. Because of this, they end up jumping from one relationship to another.
Before we take any more plunges, and cause ourselves unnecessary pain, let us be reminded that no one knows what is best for us than God Himself. He is always willing to help us make the right decisions if we seek His guidance as we come before Him in prayer. " 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' " (Jeremiah 29:11)
Happy Birthday, Tito Boyet!
