A few words: Artemis/Diane is an OC created for a challenge over at onceuponaland. The OC is based on the goddess of the Hunt from Greek Mythology and in the blend depicting her is Natalie Portman.
Bio: Diane is a 31 year old woman, a journalist covering the police and crime section in the ‘Mirror’ at Storybrooke. She is Regina’s neighbour but they have scarcely interacted. They might have exchanged ‘territorial’ glares over parking space and speeding habits but nothing as a true interaction really.
As a journalist, Diane is very methodical, persistent and rather astute. Everything that is submitted for publication has been investigated by herself extensively.
She likes mystery in her stories and she is usually going after the ‘weird’ ones even though Storybrooke isn’t exactly famous for its earth shattering mysteries especially considering that everyone was living the same day for 28 years.
To protect herself, Diane took self-defense lessons in which she excelled. She prefers Aikido for its fluidity, counteractive nature and adaptability of using the same moves with a small or a larger blade. She has always wanted to try archery but never got around it.
She is of a composed nature and has a fine sense humor that few have witnessed as she isn’t very talkative, at least in the beginning. She is a fiercely loyal and protective of her friends.
She is 5’6” (1,73m), has light brown hair and brown-green eyes.
Because of her work, she has had dealings with the Sherriff’s office and interacted with David and Emma on occasion.
“Who are you and what are you doing in my forest?”
The voice cut through the forest noise; Artemis noticed that even the birds stopped singing. Holding the bow relaxingly in one hand, she turned leisurely towards the person who spoke. There was no doubt in her mind as to the identity of the person who had just so impiously addressed her in an equally insulting tone.
Regina was glaring at the intruder. Artemis took the image of the Evil Queen sizing her.
“I realize this is your land but I am not bound by anyone and certainly not by your...” she cocked her head to the side, eyes glimmering and a mocking smile hovering over her mouth, “limited authority”.
The Evil Queen continued her unwavering glaring but took a moment before she replied as she recognized the Huntress dressed in woman’s leather light armor carrying a bow.
Artemis sighed. “I am not here to undermine your authority. I am here with cause, yes; am I going to explain it to you? Certainly not. I don’t much care about mortal affairs to be honest.”
Regina chuckled and stiffened. “So, if I let you go about your business, you will not interfere in my affairs?” Her words were lined with poison.
The Huntress smiled condescendingly. “Your Majesty, I said that I am here on my own reasons. If things happen on your land I suppose it is your affair, but I didn’t say I am not going to get involved, I said I don’t care about the human affairs.”
Soft purple light started flickering between Regina’s fingers.
Shaking her head, the other woman walked, seemingly bored, towards the Queen. Regina tensed again as she looked straight into enticing brown-green eyes mere inches from her face.
“Regina, I know you know that you cannot hurt me. I know you need the posturing but I am leaving. I don’t care about your magic and how you run your kingdom. Let me do my thing, I will let you to your own machinations. Resume your trip and, hopefully, you won’t have to see me again.”
Regina exhaled irritably. “And it is your word that, if you can leave me and my affairs, you will?”
“Yes.” Artemis replied readily. She liked Regina but in an understanding way knowing about her life. She was a goddess after all, she knew things. Regina could have been one of her own followers, had the situation been a little different.
“Care to shake on that?” Regina raised an eyebrow.
Artemis was getting impatient. “I don’t need to, I said it, didn’t I? There, you already have my word which is always going to be extremely better compared to that of any other human.”
“Okay then. Have a good day” Regina turned, her gown rustling behind her causing Artemis to consider why she didn’t hear that before.

She was also coming out of her house and already walking down the path towards her car.
“Good morning, Madam Mayor” Diane called from across the street and rushed to cross over.
“Well, it was” Regina thought annoyed but waited. Besides, Diane may have known who she really was, but Regina wasn’t about to risk it.”
“I would like to ask you about your relationship with a reporter at the Daily Mirror, Mr Sidney Glass, your Majesty. Any comments?” Her eyes twinkling with mischief, she kept her voice low.
Regina had to swallow. “You are going to publish that? I thought you gave me your word.”
Diane giggled. “Of course, I gave you my word. But with a new day every day since the clock started, and a reputable teacher charged with murder, I have to make my living.”
Before the Mayor replied, the journalist leaned and whispered. “Or at least show something for work done since I am not going anywhere anytime soon anyway. They do say though that Greece is still nice, I may visit for a bit later this year. I hear the sea and the sun are as lovely as ever.”
“Maybe you should” Regina regretted the last comment but it was too late now to take it back.
“No, it’s true” Diane admitted. "You still have my word but try not to kill anyone because if you do, then our agreement is off. I may not care about your affairs but there are rules to observe. In the meantime, I love my parking space especially when I can park my car.” Diane’s voice shifted from good natured and kind to sharp and threatening.
“Okay” Regina said. “You may go, I have work to do.”
Diane paused for a few more seconds before taking off very satisfied with herself.
