Today, two angels have forever left our company. Two people so involved in my family's lives that we thought of them as our sister, Christina, and our Mama Faith. Christina was only seventeen years old. She and her mom and dad drove down to the coast in two cars to repair her hood, and on their way back home Christina's tire blew out, sending she and her mother plummeting into the trees. Mama Faith was killed instantly; Christina had no pulse on the ambulance's arrival but was revived and lost again on the way to the hospital.
I met Christina through my sister Ashley and she was one of the handful of friends that we shared. She was a bit airheaded sometimes, but very sweet and loving to all of us. She was LeighAnn's "Aunt Nina"... it seems surreal that someone so close to me could be gone. Christina always said not to get too attached to her because she was going to die before she turned twenty-one... She didn't want anyone to cry or wear black to her funeral... the latter request will be honored, though the first is difficult to stop dishonoring.
