New Year off to a busy start!
I hosted a New Years party myself - first time ever, and it was fairly successful! About 8 or 9 people in all, and played various games (Telestrations, Munchkin, Space Fluxx, etc). Overall, a lot of fun. And lots of food and drink consumed O_O. No Super drinking at least, but happy to have been able to take advantage of the sales did for foodstuffs.
Also exhausting! Introverted people should not host parties I think.
Then this weekend I went to a wedding. It was a friend of Jeremy's, so I did not know the bride and groom, I knew about 5-6 people who were guests. Despite being a very traditional, christian wedding, these people(including the bridesmaids and groomsmen) are nerdy as fuck. Half the lead up to the reception and the reception itself was nerd arguments (batman vs superman, Vader vs The Doctor, Minecraft mods, etc) the ENTIRE wedding party wore converse sneakers(David Tennant Doctor homage.). It was pretty amusing, but also exhausting. 12 hours. And after the wedding ceremony, I went with Jeremy and some of the groomsmen to the hotel to.... set up the reception. And then at the end of the night, tear it all down and help with cleanup. It was very surreal to do this for people I didn't know.
And next weekend with be my only free weekend for the next month. And I'll need to use it for shopping. I need another pair of shorts, a bathing suit(ogodkillme),and some sort of flipflops or sandals to wear for the Jamaica trip in two weeks.
On top of everything else I am starting my next night class on the 15th - Quantitative Methods. It'll probably be my last college course before moving on to University. My next focus needs to be talking to two universities to find out what I can do and transfer so I can complete a degree, which is my next requirement for CGA. Luckily this class is covered by my work, so that'll be almost $700 I get back in four months. But there are no guarantees about which ones will be covered and which ones won't.
So I actually have a busy year ahead, but it looks to be a fairly good one. Here's hoping.
Happy 2013 everyone.
