Yeah, I woke up still feeling sick and flu-ish, although not as feverish as yesterday afternoon, and called in sick. I was able to get at my email to explain the situation to the two students who'd contacted me by email, and I asked my coworkers to direct the other two to the reference desk, please. I guess this means I need to make a point of getting emails whenever I make appointments, in case this ever happens again.
Also found a slew of other messages from students wanting last-minute appointments and directed *them* to the ref desk as well. I couldn't have fit them in anyway.
(I probably got this from a student in the first place, now that I think of it. I'm not especially scared of H1N1 when every single year we routinely get hit with some sort of stubborn Zombie Flu that infects all the health professions students and won't go away.)
Just had a bath in eucalyptus bubble bath, which didn't do a thing for my sinuses but at least I feel clean.
Will apologize to coworkers left on the hook tomorrow. However, I would not have been any more popular if I'd come in trailing a cloud of contagion like Typhoid Mary.
This may explain why I wasn't feeling well on Friday, come to think of it...
work,
