I have now been sitting at this computer for over two hours, downloading the Norton update, finding out the old Norton has to be removed, removing it, restarting the computer, conencting, restarting, and am finally downloading the final updates to this accursed virus protecter

A while back my mom had to deal with the Norton folk to straighten out a snafu. And if you've ever had the good (?) fortune to deal with the Norton folk, you deserve an all-expenses-paid vacation.

She had a full Norton package and was offered an upgrade, which she took. Only the upgrade was just for Anti-Virus, which removed everything else. And she couldn't get it all back.

Turned out she actually needed an upgrade for the whole package, which she was never offered. Only it took her 2 weeks of trying customer support online before they told her this.

Well, she purchased the full package upgrade and they did refund the original AV upgrade price. But it was a lot to go through to get that straightened out.

At least she's got a good DSL connection.
