Made it!
After a perfectly uneventful train trip (yay!) I'm at my folks' place in Miramichi. My mother has the halls all decked. The turkey is in the back of their car in a bucket of snow--who needs a deep-freeze?
My ankle is somewhat better, and I can move all my toes, so I'm going to say it's not a serious injury. A nuisance, and I'm being careful with it. But I had ice on it for about six hours yesterday, and I found some spare leg wraps in the downstairs closet so I've wrapped it up snugly, which seems to be helping. I was always a dab hand with a leg wrap, although I admit it's easier to wrap a horse than myself.
Anyway--hope everyone out there who's traveling has a safe trip, and all of you are well over the holiday--whatever holiday you observe, including "take a few days off and hang out in your pajamas."
