I took a red Honda Fit for a test drive this afternoon--assuming nothing awful shows up in the credit check, and there is no reason it should, I ought to be able to pick it up on Tuesday

I am a tad jealous. A few years ago I test drove a bunch of cars for the heck of it, (knowing full well I couldn't afford to buy one, just wanted to see what was out there) and I fell IN LOVE with the Fit. I was testing standard transmission cars, and although I had only just learned how to drive standard, it felt soooo natural...

Yeah, Hondas have such a sweet transmission. I always tell people who want to learn stick to try to find a Honda to learn on, they just *want* to shift nicely for you. I've been yearning after the Fit since it came out, and now I've paid off my line of credit it's time to do it!

I love our little purple Fit! (Although it isn't stick, which is a shame because I miss our manual transmission Elantra, but the husband was having foot issues at the time).

Great gas mileage, roomy interior, peppy enough for most purposes, and easy to park in small spots.

You know what I'm most excited about? The button-adjustable mirrors. Those should make things like parallel parking much easier!
