Affiliation: Trainer, because the Rockets could not keep him under control. Ever.
Personality:
At first glance, Claire seems to be your average person. After the first encounter with him he seems slightly loony. Claire is a somewhat crazy man with a tendency to be flighty, impulsive, energetic, and a just a tad bit of being somewhat violent. Stated before, and below, Claire is somewhat flighty. He has a tendency to sound just a tad crazy to others. He commonly speaks about the world being a ‘dream’ he’s having. He thinks that no one else but himself exists; this is described as Solipsism. He does not think that the people and events around him are truly real. He does not trust anything but his own mind because it’s the only thing that knows what’s truly going on around it. To him this is sound logic, others however would probably disagree.
Claire acts incredibly impulsive, almost every action he takes he does with out any sort of deep thought. It’s lead to all sorts of trouble and on occasion it leads to a good thing. Normally it’s bad as seen when he says in one episode “If you want the Rail Tracer, then I’ll be your Rail Tracer tonight.” And then proceeds to double the body count on the Flying Pussyfoot. It’s also seen when he suddenly proposes to Chane on top of the train after forcing Ladd off it, he also states later to Rachel that he’s proposed to hundreds of girls, been rejected and moved right on to the next one without so much as a second thought. That also pairs up with his almost never ending amount of energy he has. He can not stay still and do nothing, he has to be doing something otherwise it drives him crazier than he already is.
He is also a person who sticks to his word not matter what. He tells Czeslaw in one episode after the Flying Pussyfoot makes it safely to the station that; since the train arrived safely he won’t kill anyone him or else that was on the train that night like he said he would. He also sticks true to his word when he says he’ll keep trying to win over Chane. He does eventually in the novels win her over after he attempts quite a few times to woo her. Claire also has a strong sense of justice, though it is slightly warped a bit and thus it makes him quite unpredictable when he will act or not. He’s shown already that he won’t stand for someone killing, or attempting to kill, a friend of his and that if you are threatening the other passengers of the train he is conducting, he will find you and get rid of you.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Claire is very athletic and energetic. This means he is insanely healthy; he can run, jump, flip, do tricks and fight people all night long. All of this is demonstrated on a moving train no less.
+ He is willing to protect the things his friends hold dear, as seen when he talks to Chane and says “If you feel your world is threatened then I’ll kill what ever is threatening it!”
+ For some one who was raised in the Circus, Claire is pretty smart. Smart enough to land him self a job without the use of connections or threats of bodily harm anyways.
+ - Claire despite his impulsive behavior is actually smart. It’s all a matter of him actually putting in the effort to do it.
+ - He has a warped sense of justice, it’s near impossible to figure out what is affected by it and you only figure it something once he starts hitting you.
- Claire is incredibly impulsive; he does not think much about his actions.

[Claire Stanfield is not a person who worries about much of anything. So it comes as no surprise as he takes appearing suddenly in this place well. Obviously this is just another dream. But even Claire will draw a line when it comes to dreams being confusing.]
So, let me get this straight. You want me to go on some sort of adventure with this thing here?
[He pointed to the pink star shaped blob running around his feet. The professor he was talking to nodded, quite enthusiastically, at that and spouted some sort of gibberish that he could not comprehend.]
And I’m supposed to be the greatest master here?
[Another enthusiastic nod is the answer to his question. Claire thinks about this for a moment, a moment being at least thirty seconds, before smiling.]
Well then I think I can do that. So, where does that fightin’ come in? See I don’t do too well with lettin’ skills get rusty, Pokewhatever or not.
[The professor had no idea what sort of terror he had just unleashed into Johto.]
Third Person Sample:
Only a day into his new adventure and he was already greatly distressed. I wasn’t because he realized that he couldn’t go home or anything, to him this was just a dream he would wake up from at anytime. No it wasn’t because he was suddenly thrust into a world of magical monsters. It was because his star shaped pink blob of a pokemon just couldn’t seem to fight.
“Come on, you have to get better at fightin’ Chane. It’s pitiful watching you out there getting tossed around.”
The little blob tilted her head at him, confused to what he meant as shook his head at her.
“Look, see you’re getting beat half way to hell and you can’t do anything about it. Now I could just take care of them for you, but that would just be far too easy. You need to learn how to fight the right way.”
That went right over her head completely and it showed.
“Alright, alright I get it. You don’t know how to do it any other way right now. But you know what; I’m goin’ to fix that. I’ll teach you how to do it right!”
The Cleffa jumped up with a little shout. She had no idea what sort of world of terror she was about to enter. Claire on the other hand knew exactly what was going to happen, he also knew it was absolutely necessary. He couldn’t stand to watch Chane get beaten by silly looking raccoons and rats and over grown birds. He was going to make sure that she would be able to fight well in a couple weeks. It might test his patience but this was something he could endure. If it came to it he would just do all the fighting for both of them, he didn’t mind that one bit. After all it would keep his skills from getting rusty; not like he had any plans to let that happen anyways.
