I hate it. I give up. I could compete with her till death but what would it prove? I mean we're all just trying to be accepted by something we want to be a part of. We're fucking fueled by trends. And you can't tell me as a person that you haven't ever followed a trend. Whether it be the trend of dying your hair crazy colors, or those bracelets in 6th grade, or try the "Let's be a skater, let's be cool" thing. Do you know how many guys actually skateboard any more? Yeah, try almost none. So, why did we do it? Why did it happen? Because it was the trend, and it was what was cool. What did we listen to then? We loved the Less Than Jake, New Found Glory, Pennywise, Blink 182. You say you like Blink 182 nowadays and you're fucking shunned. At least by those hardcore kids that think they're the ultimate shit. So you listen to the Bled, big fucking shit. So you listen to the Blood Brothers, Anterrabae, Bleeding Through, The Walls of Jericho.. what the fuck does it mean? The music you listen to doesn't even fucking matter anymore. It really doesn't. Why do we idolize every single one of those kids? Because of the look. They took on the trend of the "scene kids.." Would we fucking be in love with them if they didn't have gorgeous hair, wear tight pants, and dress like the rest of them do? NO. Would he be cool if he didn't dress or look like that.. I fucking bet you not. Everyone of those fucking kids have changed over the years. The change that they've made is the switch to new things that are cool. In early middle school it was the skateboarding and punk music. I remember that New Found Glory sweatshirt Matt Pidgeon used to wear every fucking day, yeah I do. Then we switched over to the whole "emo" shit. Okay let's start wearing semi-tight pants and grow our hair out longer with the desheveled look, having better hair then most girls do, that's okay. Let's be hot shit and go to shows because we're just so in love with the fucking band because we're THAT fucking cool. First of all I cannot tell you how much I despise that word, emo. Wait no, I don't despise the word. I despise how much it's been abused. We label things emo that have nothing to do with emotion. Do you wear dark, thick-rimmed glasses? Do you? Or is your hair all to the side and you have to do the "EMO-flip" to get it out of your face or should I say just so you can do it to look cool? And oh my god I fucking listen to Something Corporate, The Early November, Matchbook Romance I'm so emo. Yeah, well fucking name me at least 5 songs off one album of one of those bands, then tell me you fucking love them and you're SO EMO. People who say they're emo are the ones who most likely don't care about the music. They just say they're emo because it's what's cool just like always. Then let's add a little straight edge in. I don't do drugs, smoke pot or get drunk because I'm too good for it. Yeah too good for it, kiss my ass. Why does shit like that happen? Cause it's trends, it's what's in.. Emo became what was in so everyone followed it and once it became too common what did everyone do? Or at least what did those boys we love do? Yeah they went "hardcore." So this is where we are now. Everyone is hardcore, everyone is scene. We have fucking belts that determine what we are. Oh there's two studs on your belt this makes you punk or emo or what the fuck ever. Oh my god you have three on yours..well you must be one hardcore fucking bastard huh? Yeah. So when did it stop being about the music? All those guys we're in love with... They fucking follow trends faster than the people who make it generic do. So now we wear the 3 studded belts and those tight pants or girl pants, and let's get piercing like the Marilyn or let's pierce ourself cause that makes us so hardcore. Let's wear fucking outrageous colored pumas, or roo's cause that makes us the shit. Let's part our hair over to the side and dye it black because that makes us hot, that makes us scene. Try a little xwarx xmoshhardx shit because WE'RE SO FUCKING HARDCORE. Yeah you'll always be what we always want. I just don't know what's going to be next. Where the fuck are we going to go after hardcore huh? What will be IT next? And what happens to all of these trends and what happens to all the music and the clothes after they're done? The true people who actually have love for the music will prevail when everyone else moves on. But it's so hard to know who is true and to determine who isn't. Everyone is a fucking poser nowadays. Yeah I really don't listen to this band, I'm just hardcore because I wear Misery Signal shirts every fucking day. We thrive off of trends and what's next. But you know what? After highschool/college is over it won't matter. We'll realize how retarded we are right now. But the people who will still be listening to the same bands, still be finding the meaning in those lyrics and the total emotion in the singers voice, well they won't mean a thing. They don't now either. What you look like is what you are..it's what makes you matter. Who you hang out is how cool you are. Going to these shows is what makes you scene. You know WE'RE all suckers to these trends. You know THEY followed something to be cool. You know III just pretend to like this band cause I want to be hot shit. YOU know you want to be accepted. YOU know it happens. YOU know I hate you. YOU know it, YOU fucking know it.
You're what I fucking hate but you're what I fucking love. You make me contradict myself so bad. But let's just go on with these trends.
So I'm done with this, I'm going to go buy another studded belt..
