[Tobias feels a bit bad interrupting him, but Cid looks like he could use a bit of a distraction.]

[Tobias manages to break Cid out of his little thoughtful pacing, but the Headmaster is hardly annoyed; in fact, his expression is one of pure relief as he spots the cadet.]

Ah, Cadet Hayes! I see you have returned safely. I was beginning to worry with the large batch of cadets that has disappeared...

Yes, I'm fine.

I brought you something back from my home, though.

[Cid looks quite surprised at this. Peering over his glasses, he gives Tobias a warm smile.]

That's far too kind of you. Did you enjoy your trip home?

[heartcorrupt]

Yes. We went back to a festival, so I think everyone enjoyed it.

[He digs in his bag for a moment, then holds out a stuffed doll of some kind.]

This is a Pokemon from my world, called Arceus. It's what made the world I came from -- humans and Pokemon alike, too.

I still don't know how to thank you for everything, but I wanted to at least give you something important from my home to try.

[Cid carefully takes the doll from him, his eyes peering over his glasses to look down at the doll. At the explanation, he smiles warmly and reaches out to clasp a hand on Tobia's shoulder.]

There's no need to thank me-- I'm glad that we're able to keep you all safe. But thank you for the gift; I will treasure it.

[Tobias returns the smile brightly.]

Just because there isn't a need doesn't mean I shouldn't try. I really do appreciate everything you've done for me and everyone else, Headmaster. It's done a lot more for me than I can ever describe.

[He gives Tobias' shoulder a small squeeze.]

While we may not be able to fully understand how difficult the situation is for all of you, we do know that this is the least we can do to make sure you are all safe until something can be done about the Time Compression effects. We will continue to protect you all until a solution is found.
