Give them your money! And if you don't have money (and man, it is tough out there right now for a lot of people) - consider donating some time. The OTW runs entirely on volunteers, and as you can imagine, it always needs more - even a few hours a month would help. Check out the how you can help page, & keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming membership/volunteer drive.
Really, think back. Way, way back. Before there was a fandom-owned and run organization. Before there was a place you could put your fic and know that it would be safe without you actually having to host it yourself. Before a peer-reviewed journal added a modicum of legitimacy to the amazing creative work that fans do. Before there was Fanlore - a site to keep track of all of the epic wank battles. ;-)
The OTW is adding new features & growing all the time - all thanks to the donations of money and time by other fans.
You guys. You guys - we own the servers. *sniff* Kick in a little, if you can, to keep them running.
