i'm so glad it's over, but what happened to summer?
this summer has gone by so fast and has been so frustrating.
i'm so very glad i got to see my two best friends pretty much every other week. it helped this summer be tolerable. i'm so very excited to move back to school and see all my crazy cats everyday.
since i will be moving back on monday, i wanted to compile a list of the highlights of summer 2005. i actually came up with a descent list of things even though i've wanted this summer to end since it started in early may. so here is the list i came up with of the things that i did/experienced this summer:
- My crazy painting. (birdhouses, little dressers, items for my friends, wrapping paper)
- Taking care of Carmen’s house and her dog all by myself for over a week.
- The Muppets Wizard of Oz (comes out august 6th on dvd for those of you wondering okay?)
- The terrible week trip to florida with hurricane amber and my mother going to a bar leaving me with a house full of children while she got crocked and hitched a ride home with a stranger.
- No longer having to wear a hot pink polo and smell like onion rings.
- Elephants in the rural king parking lot
- Chris becoming comfortable farting around people
- Hating pesant skirts, then buying and LOVING them
- Having my two BEST friends surprise me on my birthday and spend the night with me, and light fireworks including the SPACE INTRUDER off in the front yard of my grandparents house.
- The ground hog that lives underneath our back porch and that has rewired our 20 year old doorbell that we no longer use to work.
- Going to walmart at midnight to purchase the sixth harry potter book with stacey, chris, annie, and laura.
- Going canoeing with chris and stacey and breaking chris’s record for not tipping a canoe over.
- Literally kicking stacey’s shoes across my house when she told me I could kick them out of the way.
- Trying to convince stacey that harry potter is worth her time for the past two years, and have then chris tell her it’s cool once and she immediately goes out and reads the books.
- The day after tomorrow and trying to cross flooded intersections, have the air conditioning in my car go out, and driving home in a lightning storm; only to come home to my cat scared out of it’s mind.
- Kicking ass at the coles county fair in the photography section.
- The amazing food that chris’s family produces.
- Chris’s astounding cooking skillz.
- Getting the pictures and picture frame of stacey and I getting ready before dances.
- Stacey’s paper flowers.
- Chris farting on stacey in her family’s camper while we are trying to fall asleep.
- Stacey learning how to roll her r’s
- walking behind chris through his kitchen after i had taken my shower 10 minutes before. he bends over, picks up something black...i gasp. and snatch it from him. he looks at me and starts laughing uncontrollably when we both realized it's my underwear and i dropped it when i first got out of the shower.
i've had good memories this summer. i'm just glad to be getting out of charleston and being in contact with other humans :-)
