The thing I like about bands...
is that they're fun.
I don't know if it's an expression of bad taste or good taste, or whatever, but when I heard the Police were doing a reuinion tour this summer, I looked it up immediately - and was incredibly disappointed to find out that tickets were hundreds of dollars. Okay, yes, I like them, but *please*. There's not much I would pay hundreds of dollars to do that doesn't involve an airplane.
I was mildly amused to see a headline declaring that Stuart Copeland thinks they stink. Then I read the article, and the part about them finishing a terrible show, then going backstage and laughing hysterically - this made me all "awww, I love bands". I was in a band, and it was indeed hysterical. I love bands. Thinking about situations like that is my favorite part of live music.
