oh for a cat-strangulation device!

The tub refinishing guy (Miracle Method) came back today, did an acid etch and spray-enamel of the tub.  Dirk sent me photos of it all gleaming white and perfect.

My general contactor (a.k.a. father in law) arrived at lunchtime, and by the time I got home they'd already started on taking the top couple of stair steps out and re-routing the light switches and outlets from the old stariwell and bathroom wall locations to their new destinations.  Exciting!!

And the bathroom was full of tools.

And the tub had a scuff mark on the rim.

WTF???!?!

Wait, not just the one deepish-looking scratch, but a whole streak of non-shiny finish.  Wait, a couple of smudges like that.
Wait, it goes in patches almost all the way down the rim of the tub???

WTF??

Wait.  And a couple of grains of sandy substance....
And they moved the catbox back from the side room to the bathroom but didn't tuck it into the far corner so it's kind of by the tub...

CAT?  WAS THAT YOU?!?!

sigh.

Fortunately, now that it's been long enough that I'm comfortable not just touching the surface myself but rubbing at the scuff marks, it appears that it's almost entirely superficial.   Basically her feet left little lines that attracted dust, but seem to have similar surface shine underneath.  With luck the weird "dampness" of those scuff marks doesn't mean anything dire about the eventual curing process.

Only time will tell.

Photos later.

cat, bathtub, bathroom, house, stupid
