last night at champion's....
....no, this entry will not be as exciting as the title might make you believe.
we actually spent a NICE evening at champion's with our multi-national group of colleagues (they're from austria, switzerland, germany, portugal, netherlands, northern ireland, plus the ones i can't quite place or never asked).
late into the evening one of them (brigitte) whose nationality i was never quite sure of came over to talk some. she talked mostly about the cold weather in switzerland and how she always escapes over christmas/new year's. turns out she's originally from south africa. later she moved to brazil (where part of her family still lives and she will spend new year's). then she came to portugal before going on to switzerland. quite a journey, huh?
over christmas she will be in lisbon. when she heard that i would be there, too, she said, "great, give me a call and we can meet up!" so, that's one meetup with her and a possible meetup with my portuguese teacher and something tells me that some of my other portuguese colleagues will spend christmas at home. looks like we will be taken care of. :o)
