Something in the air
Today was the first Fall-ish day we've had. It was sunny, but in that wonderfully chilly, back-to-school, sweatshirt and shorts kind of way. I love back-to-school time - in fact, I think I write something about it every year. The joy of school supplies. Picking out that all-important first day of school outfit. Getting your schedule and finding out if you got the cool teachers....and if your friends have the same lunch period as you.
When we got older it was still fun, just in different ways. Back-to-school meant rush parties and buying books and catching up with friends after a three-month break that seemed like forever.
And now, early September is just another week back at work. Same as August, same as June, same as March.... I guess that means we're officially grown ups now. But there's still something in the air that makes it different. The crisp, autumn air....soon the smell of burning leaves, Halloween, bourbon and football.
